"deep dive" as in, at 1700 today we will do a "deep dive" on the upcoming mission, or, at 2300 tonight I am going to "deep dive" my spouse. It's an operational term used for lots of different situations, and can be a verb or a noun.

I always liked most of the acronyms we used when I was in the service. Some were funny and had good back stories.
But these days I'm really tired of the MIL-Speak permeating the civilian firearms market. Apparently the Military Industrial Complex has "infiltrated the non-combat sphere of the domestic AO" |

The second was it came about during the planning for Operation Overlord. They were coming up with the assault plans, and they were trying to figure out who was going to go scale Pointe du Hoc. The English said, "No bloody way!" The Canadians said, "Not us, eh?" The Americans said, "What about the Rangers?" They all turned to look at Major Cleveland A. Lytle, who asked with a lisp, "Who, uth?" |
