@headlifeguard I too would highly recommend getting a lighter 2 stage trigger like the RRA mentioned above! It will increase your ability to bumpfire. - Clint I use a Geissele HSNM trigger in the video below https://youtu.be/muZ1x5JP2zA View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

My guess is your muzzle brake is fairly effective and when combined with the stock trigger your not getting enough recoil to reset the trigger. Reset on some of the stock triggers can be pretty long. You might try an RRA 2 stage, Rise Armament single stage, JARD adjustable or other aftermarket trigger to make it easier to bump. You might also just take the muzzle brake off and see what that changes. @headlifeguard I too would highly recommend getting a lighter 2 stage trigger like the RRA mentioned above! Would using something like the JP Enterprises reduced power or enhanced reliability spring( http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/triggers-parts/trigger-hardware/trigger-springs/ar-15-reduced-power-spring-kit-prod7582.aspx http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/triggers-parts/trigger-hardware/trigger-springs/ar-15-reduced-power-spring-kit-prod7582.aspx ) or this one http://www.taylor-tactical-supply.com/AR15-Reduced-Hammer-Spring-p/ar15-hammer-spring.htm make it easier to use? I can't afford a new trigger right now, might be after taxes before I can get one.

My new BumpSAW was a bust
It's got gas issues. It would generally cycle a round, but barely. It failed to lock on an empty mag every time. I swapped to a 14.5 pinned upper and had some really fast runs. Didn't mess with prone fire today as I was mainly working with my binary trigger. Here are some clips from the binary setup. Ill try and get the Bump video uploaded before long. |

First I want to thank everyone so much for answering all my questions. Second I got out to the range this morning with my 7.62x39 upper and the gun ran great! I guess my dissipator with the SilencerCo muzzle brake won't allow the gun to recoil enough to bump.

The biggest issue with the RPD, at least with the typical striker/semi conversion, is the ridiculous amount of trigger travel and reset travel. |

Does the bumpstock bing up on itself when you get into shooting position? Is the stock dry and gritty feeling? Is the stock tube rotated too much? Is the gun excessively heavy—can you drop stuff off until it works? Are you applying appropriate forward pressure? (not too much or too little) Are you over-squeezing the trigger? This gives you reset issues. I am sure others can add more. |

Speaking of belt fed, has anyone used a Shrike with a DefendAR15? Or the FM-9 belt fed 9mm upper that just came out?
I know there's the one company modifying Colt 6920's with their own belt fed conversion, but the conversion requires cutting into the lower receiver. |

But to answer the questions. -No bipod yet -stock is not binding up on itself -Stock does not fell dry or gritty -Stock tube isn't rotated too much -I don't know if it's too heavy. It is a heavy barrel. The only thing on it are the MOE handguards and front and rear sight -Tried using different amounts of forward pressure and it didn't make a difference -Not over-squeezing the trigger Thank you for the help though. SkilletsUSMC and Jaqufrost you two inspired me to try a bump fire gun. And you guys have answered so many of my questions. |
