I hope Cory makes a video about breaking habits from the sandbox.
My wife said that my son threw some sand in another kid's face. I know where he learned that habit. |

On Memorial Day I said a prayer for those who have fallen and those whom have stood by and watched. As a FREE MAN, I give thanks and prayers, this may have fallen upon deaf ears, yet there are those who gave everything. From the birth of this Nation, to the current state of the world, again, I give thanks. Soldier on great fellows. Stolen Valor does not equate in any of this. Just IMHO.
I do not have tabs and did not put on the uniform, and never will claim to........................ So in the the end........... Cory.......................EAT A DICK! There were better men that were there, past and present...................... again, EAT A DICK Cory! |

Well said Rev. Like I posted very early on in this thread...I trained with Cory a couple years ago in a class (HSP) and in conversation he told me that he was indeed an 11B and had deployed. He didn't give much detail other than that. It came from his own mouth and I took it as gospel then as I didn't have any other background on this guy. Training with the "Ditch Bitch" would be another nail in his coffin in my book too. It pains me that he continues to make money in this industry....buyer be ware! Just IMHO!

If he were going to, he would have. Months ago and a hundred pages ago, he could've come clean, apologized, told how people just thought he was something he wasn't, so he ran with it because it made him feel more important and made up for the failures in his life, how it was a pathetic thing to do, and how he should've corrected it right away but got caught up in the lie and the idea of being a badass. He could've apologized. Back a hundred pages or so there was still room for that. Now? Now if he did it would be the Clintonian "telling the truth slowly" bullshit. He'd have waited for the controversy to subside, have waited for it all to go away just enough to apologize and expect that no one would notice. It would turn into something where from then on he'd be saying "let's move on, I already apologized" and would scowl at people who'd criticize him and call them out for "being unreasonable" and hung up on the past. People not aware of the deception would think it's just a minor thing hung onto by a few angry crazies because they don't know the backstory; and he'd slowly rebuild himself, slowly turning to mocking his detractors. Years down the road, the broader community would view him as someone who'd been slandered by a reactionary smear machine that can't get over the past - compared to Jane Fonda or John Kerry, just for a new war where eventually criticism of detractors as unhinged would become the norm and Cory would stand out as a bright shining star against the ragekids on the internet. He'll be that much more contemptible if he's really playing the long bullshit game. |

HNNNGGGGG View Quote I can't find what he posted on Facebook. Could someone paste it here? Is Cory actually claiming to BE an operator? I guess that he could be if he bought his book. But that takes some special circumstances to happen. It's not the most likely way to go about it. I lived in Indiana and was a journeyman heavy equipment operator in Local 103 of the IUOE. If Cory still lives in the Terra Haute area, he is probably joining Local 481. If he is just beginning to work as an heavy equipment operator in Local 481, he is probably still an apprentice. It takes 6,000 hours of certified work as an operator to be considered a journeyman. Given the fact that it is routine for operators to laid off in the winters, it takes years to get 6,000 hours. There is also a period of training in school. Studying as an apprentice is in some ways similar to reception station in the Army. Both are preparing to learn to do something, but lack skill. I don't consider anyone taking classes in school to be an operator. They are just a boot, a n00b, a cherry, and generally useless on a job until they develop some skills. Half the time newbies doing dirt work get stuck on a roller where they do the least damage. I'd call anyone going to apprentice school and claiming to an operator a poser. If he is still a boot apprentice and claiming to be an operator, he is a bit premature. If he sticks with it, someday he might become an operator. But there is still plenty of time for him to hhhhhnnnnnnnggggg.... Considering he is a proven liar claiming to be something he's not, this shouldn't be any surprise. |

I came in to the local on permit (was able to shape the hiring hall while I went to our training school, but a book member took preference for work assignments). To become a full member I had to obtain an OSHA forklift license, pass an independent backhoe evaluation and obtain a NYC hoist machine operators license class c (cherry picker, boom truck, etc). This took me 1.5yrs, once completed I started the three month process for my book. Our apprenticeship program lasts 4 years, upon completion you would start the process for a book if you met all the requirements laid out in the program. |
