Nice little swap with Telly to keep an eye on the bullpen during that interview.

Lol I didn't see it, what happened?

Not that one (although that was hilarious...)  The other night he asked Telly to switch places, and we realized it was so he could see the dugout to watch for incoming shenanigans.

Well to be honest, he spends that much time at the fields pretty much everyday. Learning the hitters patterns an what they swing at at what count. But I'm sure the closer to October, the more time that will be spent at the field.

At bat for what would be the first run of the game.

how do i print screen

ETA:  Yes, cheap seats!    For those wanting to know, $36 for 2 kids and I at the ticket window.  Plus hot chocolate, Pepsi, cheese fries, 2 brats, roasted nuts and pizza.  Not to mention tailgating which included Doritos, peaches, corn on the cob and burgers on the grill.  Kids are full, that's for sure.

I believe they are "nerd glasses".  The team considers Lucroy a nerd based, in part, on how well prepared and studied he is on the opposition.

At least, this is my understanding.

He's on a tear with the doubles...

Spanky, someone on a local radio station said he started making a gesture around his eyes when he hit a double.  Any idea what he is doing?  I haven't seen him do it nor have I found any video of it.

No kidding.  Especially since he's the king of doubles this season.  Tops MLB with 43 of them this year so far!

Disappointed that I haven't ran into him at Midwest Industries yet - Pete at the counter says he frequents there quite a bit.  Plus he left behind a cool signed bobblehead!

Brauny calls him a nerd.

So when he taps his hands to his head, hes making a gesture of "glasses". AKA Nerd Power

The idea is that there hasn't been a catcher who finished the season leading in doubles since the year 1900.

For the Marlins that might have evened the score for the Johnson HBP.

But as far as evening the score in their minds for that gruesome Stanton HBP.... I would not expect it.

Milwaukee has the 3rd lowest hit batters by their pitchers in the league right now.  If you include the two guys hit last night, Fiers has hit 4 batters in 4 years and 205 innings pitched.  Nothing has happened in the series that would of made someone want to hit a Marlins player.  Hard to make a case for it being intentional.  Stupid of them to think it requires retaliation.

I don't think it was intentional either.

However, when someone hits your star player in the face (a player that was a lock to finish in the top 2 MVP voting), ends the player's season, effectively ending your team's season... you're probably not going to break out the history books looking back half a decade to determine the likelihood of it being intentional.

As I put it last night, "I've got shotguns that do tighter groups than Fiers's pitching" during that game.  Plus I doubt Johnson would have gotten hit if he had checked his swing or just held off.

Wisco native and lifetime Crew fan.  I too have no clue how I missed this thread months ago.   In any case, I voted for him often and he did a great job at the All Star Game.  He deserved to be the starter, and he made all Brewers fans proud.  Secondly, it's awesome to learn he's a shooter and a hunter.  I knew I liked him for more than just hitting the shit out of baseballs!  Finally, tell 'em were all pulling for them to at least sneak into that last wild card spot, or better yet, catch the damn Red Birds.  I hate those guys.  I'd have to be honest, if they don't make the playoffs this year, it's going to be a horrible disappointment with how well they had played...but I'll forgive them, I'm sure.    Let's not let it come to that!

And one other thing for everybody else.  I've watched Fiers pitch many times, lots in 2012 and every start this year.  One of his best pitches is the fastball up and in.  He usually maxes out right at 90 mph, but it looks a helluva lot faster when it's up at eye level.  He's a location guy, who relies on that high heater as a strike out pitch.  It was unfortunate, but there was no intent there whatsoever.

I don't think it was intentional either.

However, when someone hits your star player in the face (a player that was a lock to finish in the top 2 MVP voting), ends the player's season, effectively ending your team's season... you're probably not going to break out the history books looking back half a decade to determine the likelihood of it being intentional.

You can tell if it was intentional by looking at the catchers reaction. My brothers reaction was that of surprise. It wasn't intentional.

As I stated: I don't think it was intentional either.  However, when your star player gets head in the face, his season ended, your team's season ended, and then to top it off the pitcher hits the very next batter as well... whether or not it was intentional is irrelevant to some people.
