Nice little swap with Telly to keep an eye on the bullpen during that interview. Lol I didn't see it, what happened? He swung him into the Gatorade bath. It was pretty funny,. Not that one (although that was hilarious...) The other night he asked Telly to switch places, and we realized it was so he could see the dugout to watch for incoming shenanigans. |

Probably about October Well to be honest, he spends that much time at the fields pretty much everyday. Learning the hitters patterns an what they swing at at what count. But I'm sure the closer to October, the more time that will be spent at the field. |

Milwaukee has the 3rd lowest hit batters by their pitchers in the league right now. If you include the two guys hit last night, Fiers has hit 4 batters in 4 years and 205 innings pitched. Nothing has happened in the series that would of made someone want to hit a Marlins player. Hard to make a case for it being intentional. Stupid of them to think it requires retaliation.

As I put it last night, "I've got shotguns that do tighter groups than Fiers's pitching" during that game. Plus I doubt Johnson would have gotten hit if he had checked his swing or just held off.

Wisco native and lifetime Crew fan. I too have no clue how I missed this thread months ago. In any case, I voted for him often and he did a great job at the All Star Game. He deserved to be the starter, and he made all Brewers fans proud. Secondly, it's awesome to learn he's a shooter and a hunter. I knew I liked him for more than just hitting the shit out of baseballs! Finally, tell 'em were all pulling for them to at least sneak into that last wild card spot, or better yet, catch the damn Red Birds. I hate those guys. I'd have to be honest, if they don't make the playoffs this year, it's going to be a horrible disappointment with how well they had played...but I'll forgive them, I'm sure. Let's not let it come to that!
And one other thing for everybody else. I've watched Fiers pitch many times, lots in 2012 and every start this year. One of his best pitches is the fastball up and in. He usually maxes out right at 90 mph, but it looks a helluva lot faster when it's up at eye level. He's a location guy, who relies on that high heater as a strike out pitch. It was unfortunate, but there was no intent there whatsoever. |
