Does the old bastage work? What's the dealeo with this party I heard about? Yep. Needs a seal on the freezer. It still seals up enough to freeze stuff but it get moisture build up and turns to ice around the ripped part. The party is gonna be a small CW course for my bday. I didn't see you on the peep signal, but you're free to come. Peep signal? This a Booker face thing? I don't bookerface. What about mybook? Twatter? Facespace? I'll take none of the above for $1 Alex. |

I have never even bought a keg. If I could get a keg of Tdog for cheap like RA says, then it might be good for that. I really have little desire to have a keggerator though so spending a ton of money on it isn't an option. i'd probably just throw the keg in the fridge and open the door to fill up a glass until somebody wanted the damn thing. You're shitting me. You don't own a keggerator?! Call me or something. You need learning. DO NOT try to cut corners and Frankenstein a keggerator together. You will end up with something made in China and it will cause you significant consternation. Just like rifles, it's completely possible to build it yourself and save a lot of money, but you cannot buy shitty parts and have a good product at the end. I have never even bought a keg. Did the Spartan Super at Wintergreen yesterday.
It sucked, but not too bad. Conex > traverse wall, for sure. Not enough water obstacles either, but I guess that's more of a TM thing. |

Money is only required if you want to speed up the rate at which you can do it. A RCBS Rock Chucker press and a set of Lee dies will get you for $150 or less. Get a good scale, and that's all you really need. Prime on the press, weigh each charge, and do your thing. You can do 20-30 rounds per hour, depending. For brewing, buy a turkey fryer kit, and repurpose an old cooler for a batch sparge tun. You'll need to buy a fermenter unless you really want to use 6.5gal buckets. Either way, you can brew all grain with less than $100 in gear. If you're okay with all the time that takes, then the only barrier to entry is education. For that, each can be solved by reading one 200-page book. |

Don't forget the copper coil to chill the wort. View Quote I didn't. You don't strictly *need* it. Cover your bucket of wort with some aluminum foil and leave it overnight. Pitch the next day when it's at room temperature. Yes, it goes against everything I stand for as a brewer. The inability to separate the break is actually more of a sacrifice than any sanitation concerns, and I don't want to compromise quality by not chilling rapidly. But if I was on an extreme budget? I could do without it. But c'mon, Pistol. Read a book! Read a book! Read a motherfuckin book! |

In other news, I should be able to nail 250 squat weight by the end of the week.
Following the discovery that my Chinese bar only weighed 30lb I was a little bummed, but I just hit 3x5x245 and nailed all reps perfectly, so I should be able to get 250 either Wed or Fri. What's our opinion on lifting barefoot? I know it's not ideal for load transference, and I wouldn't do it in a gym for obvious sanitation reasons, but all I have a re running shoes, and I figure if I'm going to spend money at this, I ought to get a better bar first. That, and the elusive night vision fund just got bankrupted for Fall semester. Cost went up, too. $3,045.00 for three credits. Fuck me. But, so I've been lifting barefoot. Good idea / bad idea? |
|
Found out my NVGs and Laser are shipping tomorrow.
ETA: Also first day of classes for this semester, getting that education. |
|
I used to lift barefoot until I got my Vibrams. It's way better than lifting in super padded tennis shoes that put you at a weird angle and my cause you to roll your ankle.

What? no hand over hand all the way up? It might be possible. Oh and the climb is more like 12 ft. Most of the rope is on the ground. Did it yesterday and it only took me 3 tugs to get up it. Coming down still sucks. And unless somebody has an AK, we will probably do a 870 takedown. My buddy has a tapco fucked one but he is usually late. I have an SKS... not quite an AK but its at least 7.62 ETA: My sks has a tapco stock on it as well. I have the wooden one, but it requires work to put it back on. 870 it is. In honor of AfghanMan. What is required with the870? |
