You find a bone marrow donor who carries the immunity, you remove the infected persons bone marrow and then transplant that immune marrow into the patient who is infected with AIDS. The new bone marrow will begin producing blood cells that are immune to the virus. Within several months to a year of the transplant a patient will be cured. It has successfully worked on one person and the research center has announced that they have 12 patients who have received transplants and their results are being monitored.

Right now this is the only true CURE for aids. Not exactly the miracle drug many people have been hoping for.

They are however looking into identifying those with the immunity and encouraging them to donate blood specifically to help patents with AIDS. The immune blood, while not a cure, would be doing the same thing as a bone marrow transplant, the only difference is its not permanent, the infected patient would need regular blood transfusion, like maybe once a month for their entire life. While this sounds like a hassle it is actually cheaper than surgically removing someones bone marrow and getting it replaced, possibly even less expensive than some of the current drugs on the market which only slows or puts the virus into remission but never curing it.

EDIT: There is actually a second cure for AIDS, apparently they have tried gene therapy on several new porn babies who received AIDS from their mothers. Doctors have been able to isolate the gene responsible for producing blood cells with the appropriate immunity to AIDS and by inserting these into the marrow of a young developing baby, the gene modifies the existing marrow gene and produces new marrow as the child grows, producing immune blood cells and eventually during the child of the disease.

Thats pretty much a golden ticket for that child to eventually be as promiscuous as they want when they become and adult.
