Can a strong jawed dag have a ham bone as a treat?

It is honey glazed and I don't want him crushing it and choking on splinters.

Won't any cooked bone have the risk of splinters?

Generally speaking, raw bones yes, cooked bones no.  YMMV.

Cooked will definitely splinter.  Not cooked still has a good chance depending on the dog.

Raw only, and the marrow is what they really want and it cooks away.

He's sad.

He might snag another Easter bunny tonight though, he's on garden guard duty

we don't give pork bones to the dog.

not because of any safety factor... it's just that her breath REEKS when she eats those.

So instead of pork/ham bones she gets beef joints and knuckles.

Yes, if you want a fat vet bill.

Seriously, no.  Don't let him that rabbit either.  All kinds of little bones in Bugs Bunny.
