Looking at this pack, http://lbtinc.com/bags-backpacks-packs/backpacks/mortar-pack.html
I noted that it had this "Berry Compliant" while not earth shattering information, it was still interesting (sorta) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berry_Amendment I am sure that they are great packs and will do the jobs intended, they just aren't intended to be sold to the public other than via surplus sales. |

I picked one up during their New Years Sale. Paid $100 for it, Definatel worth $100 not anymore than that though.

But's a cude pack. the lbt looks like it has a suspension and will carry much more weight Also eagle started making stuff in vietnam or somewhere before the got bought and basically ended civilian sales, not that the foreign made packs are bad

You guys must not have read the part about how it packs itself and then carries itself for you. 550 is a small price to pay for features like that

Ha! Seriously though, that's way overpriced. However, the LBT 3 day pack that I picked up on their valentine's day sale for $49.99 was priced just right! |

You'd be a tard to buy them at those prices. They go on sale and could be had for cheap.

I've never really understood the tactical backpack thing. I'm grabbing my tried and true backpacking pack if I need to go somewhere for a few days without resupply.

I know shit about packs, but what I can tell you is - THEY ARE ALL OVERPRICED

I bet a Navy SEAL touched it! If one did I can see how it would command such a high price!

If its not Kifaru or Mystery Ranch its not worth it. LBT makes good stuff but they charge insane prices cause they are associated with the Teams.

Quoted: Fuck that noise. My RAID II has been going strong for almost 4+ years now. 170 bucks. Couple mesh pouches from kifaru on the inside and 1 or 2 7-channel pouches from esstac on the front and its perfect. Been beat around the back of 7tons, airplanes, had a gallon jug of CLP spilled on it, dropped thrown and kicked all over the place. Some simple green(for the oil smell) a little bit of detergent and an industrial washing machine, and it looks new. I need to replace a few of the buckles because they've been stepped on or broken but it's held up exceptionally well. http://home.comcast.net/~colonelklink/gear/raidII.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~colonelklink/gear/RAID/006.JPG View Quote |

On a nylon pack its just gonna be a treatment anyways, which you can always redo with something like nikwax or scotchgard or whatever. It's better than it reeking of CLP, which while I'm fond of the smell it's a bit overpowering after a while. |
