Being that my only experience is with a 1911 full size I'm going with revolver. A 1911 is too damn big for me to conceal unless I'm wearing a jacket.

I've carried both, started carrying a j-frame when I first got my HCP. if/when I get a good holster for my E-Series S&W 1911 I'll start carrying it, too.

I wonder how many people who voted for the 1911 have ever tried to CCW one.

If I only have those two choices I'll take a Centennial and a spare speedloader.

daily, for over 2 years.  I even had the option between a 3.5 officers and a full size and I carried the full size.  They're easy to conceal.

Good belt, good holster... No problems.

Like I said I carry both but I carried the full size 1911 everyday for 4 years before I got my 642.

The slim profile of the 1911 makesit easy to conceal, even with lighter clothes,as long as you have a good belt and holster. It's only disadvantage is the weight. 39 oz empty vs 15 for the 642.
