I have 2 k31's I bought when they were $89 from AIM long ago. Scored quite a few cases of GP11 with them. Only have 4 and half cases left.
I would pick them over any bolt gun around if ammo was prevalent. They are extremely accurate. |

Have fun doing anything to a Russian boat paddle, save scoping it and bending the handle, without a full machine shop. Einfield? Enjoy all that surplus ammo that doesn't exist anymore. And when you reload, don't expect case life beyond around 5 reloads for a war year rifle. K31? Novelty. Sprinfield 03's and 1917's are the next best- because they are already in a caliber designed specifically to deliver justice. Carcano? Guido garbage. Collecting the Mosin or the SKS rifle/carbine is like collecting stds. They are dirty and cheap. |

If I had to go into battle today with a bolt action rifle, the K31 would be it.

The only thing that I was disappointed with so far on the K31 I just recently got from AIM was there was no previous swiss owner tag under the buttplate

Guess if I make it into whatever I like it doesn't count anymore, unless we want to debate whether 30-06 or 8mm-06 counts. 8mm surplus is still out there though. CTD (gack) has Romanian ball, and SG still has Iranian stuff. The glory days of cheap Yugo stuff is over. |

I have everything named so far.... If I had to shoot a match with them.... My K31 hands down. I only have 5 cases of GP11 left.... View Quote "If I had to shoot a match with them..." Look up the Ross rifle of WWI (Canadian) also a straight pull rifle that was a wonder on the match range, and a bust in the trenches of WWI. I'd vote Lee Enfield Mk 4 for the best battle rifle. Fast, high capacity, modular so you can fit the rifle to the soldier and maintain in the field. |

The K31 is by far my favorite. Buttery smooth and laser beam accurate. It's just a pleasure to shoot.

It's kinda dirty, and the "match-like" accuracy that others report when using other ammo doesn't seem to be the case with it. |

I've fired 5 or 6 boxes of the Wolf Gold through my k31. Very, very close in the accuracy department. I was skeptical at first. Bought 2 boxes to try. Bought more. Plus you have Boxer primed brass to reload. |

I've heard of it, and own a Yugo capture (before re-marking them as M48 rifles). Have to break sight picture when removing the spent cartridge, and the magazine is one less and not removable on that piece of German work. Still a good rifle, but edge to the K31. |

It's a compelling argument for sure, but the K31 probably wouldn't have worked well in dirty environments.

K31's are tittieburgers. Had mine scoped for hunting at one point. Accuracy is amazing. Ammo still seems to be in decent supply too.

Love my K31. Amazing what they were able to do with the technology of the day. Trigger is just awesome and the straight pull bolt is very fast. I had a name tag under the butt plate and tried contacting the owner, but got a letter back from someone else who said they had no idea who he was. :(
