M&P wasn't out and the XDm9 fit my hand better than Glock did. |

Jerry said he bought his first in 87... it's still in the box.

heres my thoughts on it:

Glock because I have too much money invested in mags, parts, etc to change now.
I would be very tempted to switch to the M&P if S&W made a M&P 45C sized 9mm. |
|
I own all three. As every pistol and every shooter are different, take this with a grain of salt. I have had problems with both of my XD's failing to fire due to weak striker springs. Both have been replaced twice, they just seem to wear out after about 1000 rounds or six months, whichever comes first. I can't trust my life to something that only goes bang sometimes. My M&P is a fine gun, but I can't hit a damn thing with it. I don't know what it is about it, but I couldn't hit water with it if I was drowning. All of my Glocks have been 100% reliable, accurate and ugly as a mud fence. But we're not talking about pretty, are we? For my money, it's tough to do better than a Glock.

Glock didn't fit my hand, the bore axis on the XD is way too high.

IIRC there were a lot of complaints of poor accuracy with the 9mm M&P's. My 45 M&P is easily the best practical shooting pistol I've ever shot. Maybe not from the bench, but it just seems to hit fairly close to what it's pointed at. Stock trigger sure did suck until I got the Apex sear. |

I loved my M&P 40 til I shot a plate sized group at 30 feet. Traded it for Gen 4 G35 and I liked that so much I bought a 34 a month later.

View Quote different brush for different hands and all that but my M&P 9 makes me look good on the range and I am not so great with a handgun to answer M&P for me because my wife has small hands and the glock or even the XD doesnt fit them the M&P with the small backstrap fits her well and as mentioned above.... makes me look good |

I always thought M&P's were just as good as Glocks until with my Shield I had 2 FTE a stove pipe and it didn't stay locked open on the last round...

I prefer the M&P, had an XD and didn't care for the high bore axis but it was very accurate. I was looking at getting into a M&P 9 Pro but the accuracy issues that seem to appear randomly in the full size 9's have me worried.

I could live with any of them,If I had a choice I'd take a Glock though.

I own a G19 Gen 4, 4" XD, and an M&P Shield. All 9mm, of course.
The Shield rocks for CCW. It's the best combination of quality and price in a single stack 9mm today. I wouldn't hesitate to own a full size; it's just that I don't have one. The XD is OK. It's a rugged little bastard. I've shot it a ton in plenty of bad conditions, put it through a few classes, and it's been 100%. G19 is... well, it's a Glock 19. It's what I'm shooting lately, and I shoot it pretty well. It'd be my first choice for a duty size handgun that I have available to me right now. There isn't really a "better" or "worse" out of the lineup, it's just what you want the gun to be. |
|
Havent' watched the video yet but I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Miculek likes the M&P better than the Glock or XD; seeing as he is sponsored by them.
|
|
Really can't go wrong with any of them (although I'd say XDm over regular XD).
I own an XDm and an M&P, but love Glocks just as much. Just haven't bought one yet. |

I did a polish job on mine to see what it would do prior to ordering the Apex, and the newer sears (mine's about a year old) look exactly like the Apex sears. After polishing the contact surfaces and reprofiling the FP block per Burwell, I'm really happy with the trigger as is. |

Isn't Jerry Miculek aka Mr. S&W?
Let me guess, he chose the M&P. ETA: After watching the full video. Ok, I was wrong. That was a pretty non-bias review. |
|
XD (Aka HS2000) isn't even in the same league as the Glock and M&P.
|
|
|
For me....XD. Fits my hand, shoots where I aim, goes bang when I pull the trigger.
To each their own. |
|
I chose the M&P, 4 times now
M&P40 Full Size M&P9 Full Size M&P40c and, waiting for UPS on an M&P9 CORE |

So a guy wearing a S&W shirt who's famous for shooting S&W revolvers talks alot about S&W guns...

My XD's extractor shit the bed after about 1500 rounds. I'll give Springfield credit though their customer support was very efficient.

Shot XD's, don't like them.
Like Glock, was the only pistols I owned until I bought my first M&P. Haven't bought a Glock since and have sold all my Glocks except one. ETA- Quoted:

Pretty funny , this question comes up a bunch
Have multiple Glock models 19/26/23. These are my go to pistols , I love these models, I installed 3.5lb connectors for triggers , otherwise all stock I like the XDM 5.25 better than Glock 34-35, better trigger , much better sights right out of the box. I have done zip to this pistol other than shoot it, and I shoot this very well. I currently own an M&P 9c , trigger sucked when I first got it , installed an apex kit in , now I really like this pistol - kind of in between a 19 and 26 size size. I starting to really like this pistol. However , I had a MP45 full size ( purchased used ) , that was very large only held 10 rounds and accuracy was pretty marginal, if accuracy would have been better I would have kept it longer . I agonized over buying the MP over the FN, and ultimately made the wrong choice for me. I have since sold it. I will be buying a polymer 45 again , but it won't be an MP. Moral of the story , buy what works for you. I read lots of crap ( I mean INFORMATION ) on the interweb , but at the end of the day I do my own evaluations. If I had to pick one of those pistols above for any situation ( except concealment ) it would be the XDM 5.25. Simply fantastic , and if I believed most of the people here I would have never bought it . I will ( shop for good deal on new or like new ) buy something , try it , if I don't like it sell or trade it. |

Glock for me, M&P felt better in my hands but the accuracy with the one I had was terrible, 7" at 25 yards off of sandbags is unacceptable, got that result with more than one shooter to. The XD grip for some reason feels like more of a brick to me than the Glock does.
