My oldest son had many problems at birth, so I can relate.
Prayers sent, OP. |

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. My wife delivered my 2nd son five weeks early and he struggled for a bit. He just turned 5 years old, is 50 inches tall and weighs 71 lbs. He is a great joy to have in my life.
Hang in there! Congratulations on the little souls that the Lord has placed in your care. May the Lord bless you and your whole household with good health and peace! |

BTDT - Our son was 12 weeks early and our twin girls 5 weeks, all perfectly healthy now.
My wife and I will have your whole family in our thoughts and sincere prayers. |

Your family is in my family's thoughts and prayers. I remember when my daughter was born ( 16 months now ) I was perpetually terrified for her health, and she was full term. I can't imagine what yoou are going through now.
May the blessings of the lord pour swiftly out upon you and yours. - Nw - |

Positive thoughts out to you and your family. In 15 yrs or so, you and your wife will be able guilt your kids out when they do their teenage-ry things, by recounting this story. . Hang in there, OP.

Hope all works out. Keep us posted with pics when they are walking and driving you nuts:)
Nicu docs are top notch. Seriously take time to get out of the hospital. Even if to go to taco bell. You need some rest and hospitals for days on end can drag you down |

My wife had our twins on Thursday about 6 weeks pre-mature. My little boy Matthew and his sister Evelyn are having alot of breathing problems because their lungs aren't fully developed. They are both connected to machines helping them breath, but Evelyn has been having alot of episodes were she stops breathing like sleep apnea. It's hard to hold it together even for the sake of my wife. Please pray for them, they need all the help they can get. View Quote May God Bless Mathew & Evelyn--Keep them Safe and Healthy-Prepared for a Long Happy Life!! Amen!! ETA: Beautiful Names! |

View Quote Preemies are prone to apnea events, typically called Apnea of Prematurity. The brain doesn't send the body the stimulus to breathe, and is typically related to blood-gas imbalances caused by under-developed areas of the brain. It'll be horrible to watch as a parent, but it resolves in time. Here's a link to help ease your fears, and prayers have been sent: Apnea of prematurity |

Prayers sent! It's wonderful to see all the encouragement from folks who have been there!

Prayers sent. Their lungs will continue to develop and they will get the necessary steroids to help with that.
My son was born 6 weeks premature. He stayed in the hospital for two weeks after birth....hardest thing I ever had to do was leave him those nights. He was 4 pounds 15 ounces. Doctors freaked us out with their negativity so we kicked them out of the room and just dealt with the nurses that had better bedside manners. My little guy didnt have his "suck, swallow, breath reflex" down either so he came home on a bradycardia/apnea machine for about a month as a precaution. Twelve years later I have a healthy kid who is always on the honor roll, plays little league and has no lung issues. Champion for your family and fight the good fight brother! |

prayers sent buddy.
hang in there. Those lungs of theirs will sure up in no time and they will be keeping you up at night with them, without a doubt. |

OP, I think I know you from your shop. Prayers sent.
If they are at OSU, it has one of the best high risk delivery practices. |

Prayers for you and yours, bro.
We serve an awesome God. ETA: My nephew, my brother's son, spent a couple of weeks in an incubator after he was born for the same reason...that was 12 years ago. Last week, the little brat got sent to the Penalty Box twice during his hockey game, (and he's proud of it...) |

Both my kids were born C-section and a little premature. They each had wet lungs as a result. It's scary, but common. Prayers out.
