Israeli build on a No Dak receiver.  It is now SBR'd and I got the sling swivel installed.

I don't have any recent pics but I will get some.  What barrel are you using?  An 11 1/2" will need to be turned down in two spots in order to fit the receiver trunions.  Otherwise the receivers are very nice.  Built mine close to a year ago, took 9 months to get the SBR approval back in order to add the stock.  I also had to alter the barrel feed lip so it could feed hollowpoints, nothing more than a small bevel similar to that found on a 1911 barrel.  Zero problems since.

the original length is 10.2" , where did you end up with an 11.5?? you must have used an smg barrel since it required being turned down, semi auto barrels will fit without modification. i havent decided which brand im going to go with, may be what ever is in stock at the time. i want it to be 9" like the pic i posted on the previous page, with the VFG and RMR..

Looks like you could fairly easily make some kind of Sig-esque "arm brace" for an uzi pistol that folded up like the original. Anyone working on something like that? I would probably get one if a halfway decent looking solution was available as I don't have the energy to deal with SBR in this state..

if it unfolded to the original length, the part that goes around your arm would probably still be considered a stock.

Agreed. The one I fired, I couldn't help but realize how easy it would be for an untrained shooter with a loose grip to have a hand slip in front of the muzzle before being able to get off the trigger(FA, SOT friend). A surprising handful considering it's only a 9MM, and quite heavy for the caliber.

I gotta admit, I've always wanted an uzi.

If a man were to buy one of the Mckay kits, what would it take to build an uzi?

What's with the "part count" to keep it all legal?

How much is such a project costing these days?

the only "hard" part is welding a piece of metal in the lower grip assembly to block the selector from going to the auto position. everything else is just assembly. price will depend on how much you spend on parts/if you find any deals.  you could probably buy a century for around the same price it would cost to build, but i like tinkering so i built one instead.

Are there any "how to guides" floating around?

What parts, aside from the parts kit, would one need?

yeah mckay is pretty much the best.  another company has one that comes parkerized, but it cost twice as much as the mckay.

this is a pretty good thread.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_123/560725__ARCHIVED_THREAD____UZI_builds.html&page=1

you need a parts kit, a receiver and a semi auto bolt(both can be got from mckay), and a barrel. then mags and ammo
