The ROP is not going to take this well
A number of newspapers in the region are reporting that the Republic of Angola has outlawed Islam, apparently in an effort to thwart the spread of Muslim radicalism in the country. Among them was La Nouvelle Tribune, a French-language newspaper out of Morocco, reports the International Business Times. La Nouvelle Tribune observed that a minaret on an Angolan mosque had been removed previously. Also, in the small city of Zango, not far from the capital of Luanda, government officials reportedly destroyed a mosque. Glad to see a country finally has the nerve to confront this problem in the way it needs to be handled.

Hopefully this will result in some cool videos of mosques exploding

We did this yesterday. It got locked due to a CoC violation. (Maybe more than one.)
If you don't want this one to get locked, pay attention to the CoC, particularly the first article of it. Follow the CoC RELIGIOUSLY. No derogatory comments of a religious, ethnic, or sexual nature, please. THINK before you post. Let's see if this one can avoid the lock. |

I'm not a fan of Islam.
I'm REALLY not a fan of governments banning religions. If any of you are Christians and think this is a fine idea, remember that the next time you read about the Atheist Otter Alliance or whatever suing over a Nativity scene in front of the county courthouse in East Cornpatch, Missouri. |

I'm imperfect and strangely okay with it. |

While I hate them, and wish death upon them personally....
I do believe I would find myself aligned with the goat rapers if such a thing were to happen here. Freedom of religion and such. Government persecuting a religion never ends well.

yay freedom of religion some of you View Quote Some blow stuff up and some are deafeningly silent when some blow stuff up. Either all of that needs to change, or this is going to happen. As it is, spreading radical Islam is the root cause of most of the Western world's problems right now and is instrumental in facilitating the rise of the out of control police state. Losing skyscrapers, losing people at a marathon, and seeing the ridiculous "keep us safe" response it empowered that is destroying our freedom can make one a little less...tolerant. |

I don't necessarily want Islam, orany other religion for that matter, to go away. What I want is the "peaceful" Muslims to get off their lazy asses and clean house. Stand against the festering jihadists and hate mongering clerics who preach violence towards others and domination by any means. Until that day comes, the peaceful Muslims are complicit by virtue of their silence....Not speaking out against the violent factions within Islam is tacit approval of their actions as far as I'm concerned.... |

Don't you ever want to see suicide bombing go away? Seriously, Filipinos would smack you for your defense of Islam. It is really easy to defend Islam as a comfortable white man, far from the perils of actually living next to these people. |

It is wise to ban a theocratic ideology that is not only incompatible but directly in conflict with all others.
ETA- Isnt it? If you value liberty, you cannot really argue for such an ideology. now if they can just back it up and hold it down... |

So, the Muslims will magically become Christians/Jews/Buddhists/Hindu/pagan/Satanists/atheists once all the mosques are gone?

Their country their rules. FWIW it's what the muzzies do when they take over.

I don't know why the response should be different just because they have a system of government/religion all rolled into one big behemoth. |

View Quote Is isn't just theocratic, it's also entwined with a political system and laws. That is the problem. I want a world where there's just saber rattling and brushfire wars in third world countries between warlords. I am sick of the stormtroopers in public places to "keep us safe", the TSA groping, the NSA monitoring and all the rest, all ostensibly justified in response to the threat of Islamist terrorism. I want to be able to walk in freaking Boston without wondering if someone left a backpack to blow up children at a public event full of happy people. I want the Western world to regain its freedom. And it cannot as long as Islamists are periodically blowing shit up and giving statists the excuses needed to grind the boot heel on everyone else. So much money is being wasted fighting these fourth century savages. So much that could be going towards a space program, reaching for the stars, whatever. |

We'll see. |
