Cool pics! I was out at Nellis a few years back and saw some dudes (don't know if PJs, JTAC or what) were doing some training. Very impressive, to say the least. Those cats don't fuck around.
Looks like a lot of the guys with PVS-15s have something mounted to one side on the objective. Looks like a compass, but I was told they don't work worth a crap. Can anyone enlighten me? |

View Quote It is a compass. On the bottom is a button that activates the light and you can see the direction you are looking in your NVGs. They weren't very durable but they were small and light so I usually had a spare with me. They were great for close range work like work like R/W call for fire or times where I was moving and just wanted a quick reference. For longer ranges or while at a static position I would pull out a Silva/Brunton (something more accurate) or use a laser/GPS combo if working CAS. |
