Doesn't anyone have problem with the fact that the Bloomberg police received over 200 911 calls about the gang. <= I'm quoting the commissioner himself. But not one cop car showed up to do something before the gang started doing stupid Sh*t and things got out of hand? I'm glad I don't live in NYC...Nice job Bloomberg! Keep up with your anti-gun crusade and we'll see how that goes. Incompetent police commissioner, even let the thug punching the car window go...stating he was trying to help the wife and kids. Say, Wouldn't pulling the fellow biker away from the SUV be more helpful? I don't see how punching car window would help... View Quote Hi suntex01, welcome to arfcom. The response times for the west side hwy are pretty slow. I live several blocks south of where the initial collision occurred. My living room and terrace face the highway, and I often hear collisions late at night (mostly weekends, i.e. drunks), look out the window and call 911. It usually take 10 min. or so before emergency vehicles start showing up. And thats late at night, with almost no cars on the road. Regarding the biker who punched the driver's side rear window, it has been suggested here that he probably rolled on his buddies in exchange for not being charged. As for "trying to help", I believe you are talking about the atty for the guy who got paralyzed, Jay MeeZee, she claimed he was trying to help the downed biker at the orig. collision scene, not trying to assault Mr. Lien. Mr. MeeZee has a criminal record going back 20 years, (he's only 30-something, IIRC) so I'd take that with a grain of salt. |

Jesus fuck. Really? I've seen off-duty NYPD cops lauded in the news, though. A couple of yrs ago a female officer stopped a robbery at a hair salon by shooting the gun out of the perp's hand, in Queens, I think? More recently an off-duty officer tried to stop a mugging, got shot, and killed at least 1 bad guy. He got promoted to detective while still in the hospital, IIRC. |
