We had this thread awhile back just like the Larue target thread. IIRC DC Police has a medal that is the same as one of the WWII theater medals, so someone was trying accuse the Chief of Stolen Valor, but the medal company that makes these things just reused the ribbon design for something else, like going 30 days without spilling coffee on your tie.....

They are awards for various things. What each one denotes would not be standardized and would be specific to that police agency. They are usually only worn on formal uniforms.

Mike In Philly years ago I used to see a lot of older cops wearing their military ribbons from Vietnam. I asked one and he told me they are supposed to wear any they were awarded in the service. |
