"Stolen"....? LMAO
Those are the weapons that were given to them, Bengazi was left to burn, and this is the timed hit piece that they were "stolen". Released on 9/11, no less. Fuck these people. |

AVS-9's... Great, just what needs to be in the hands of the ROP.

in the big scheme of things, a few peq's and nods in enemy hands isnt a HUGE deal,
BUT... tactically it could suck for someone if bad guyshave this shit, and figure out how we use it. |

The 12-member American team was not at the training camp when either raid occurred, as they regularly stayed at a nearby villa that served as a safehouse at night.
Located just outside of Tripoli, the camp was supposed to be secured each night by Libyan forces. But on two occasions, the camp was attacked and raided by either militia members or groups affiliated with terrorist organizations. View Quote So, they are either incompetent (Special forces - not likely) or they lied and they supplied them. I'm going with "Our government has lied to us yet again" for 1000 Alex ! |

So we had Special Forces in the country to train some assholes that are likely a threat to any and all Americans.
Our Embassador had what, two guys to protect him from a organized attack. |

View Quote It sucks for the bad guys to get this stuff period, I like the idea of our men having an advantage, but the reality is that the equipment isn't what makes our guys better, it is the ability to use the equipment effectively, that takes lots of training, and in the Mid East they prefer the will of Allah over training. |

That is a major issue, especially in a combat zone. If haji has nods, then we lose our tactical advantage at night. Would you want to go on a night raid when the enemy knows you are coming? |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and make some educated guesses about what happened. The weapons and equipment were a gift to the country of Libya. The SF pax were "in country" to assist in training the official, current military of Libya in counter-terrorism. Lax security at the base allowed radicals to infiltrate and steal the goods. Anything else doesn't make sense.

The only thing open at the time was the motor pool which was run by a Master Sergeant if I remember right. Anyway, he was cool as shit and liked us so we pretty much had the run of the place. One day, this big crate was sitting in one of the bays as we left for lunch. All the .mil guys were gone already. We thought nothing of it and left for lunch ourselves. Well, we came back to a shitstorm in the cat 4 range for sure. Apparently the crate was full of nods and somebody had helped themselves to some of them. That old MSGT copped a whole new attitude I'll tell you. Said there wasn't a swingin dick goin NOWHERE till those nods were found. Evidently they found them by the time we were ready to go because all was back on an even keel by then. He did ask us what if we had seen the crate on our way out and if we remembered anything about the condition the crate was in when we left but never did treat us as suspects. The next day he was right back to his old self. |

Most of those guys are not happy about going back to their real jobs of training people how to fight. Except for 1st and 7th group, their AOs are real nice. SF guys are just like the rest of the military when it comes to fuck ups, they jst have a smaller pool and therefore less problems numerically. Just look at the guys who gave steroids and booze to SSG Bales, same group that got busted with the SS rolling hookers down south. |

Correct me if I am wrong here but isn't one of the big things with NVG's and lasers that you can see not only where you are aiming but where everyone else is aiming as well? So if our side has their lasers on then an enemy with NVG's knows everyone's position? They could also see where you are pointing a laser for an airstrike?
If so I can see why military leadership has kittens when they go missing. That stuff may be available in the US but you better be careful buying it. I have been told that both of those items are things uncle same will show up at your door over if it actually belongs to the military. |

Well on the bright side, they just saved us the cost of shipping them to Al-Qaeda in Syria. You know....all that "non-lethal" aid McCain and Obama got all pumped up to send over there.
But a "shit was stolen" excuse provides some cover when our guys start getting killed because we handed these tools over to those people. Obama and McCain can just say "well these weren't the ones we gave them, they were the ones stolen in Libya." |
