Could this be what you heard about?
Some Eglin Air Force Base firefighters were called away from a 9/11 ceremony Wednesday morning to respond to a civilian shooting inside of Building 1. A civilian employee assigned to the 96th Test Wing shot himself inside the building about 7 a.m. and died of his injuries, according to Lois Walsh, base spokesman. http://www.nwfdailynews.com/local/civilian-shoots-kills-himself-inside-eglin-afb-building-1.200878 |

Impossible, military bases have extremely strong gun control.
That aside, it is sad that he felt there was no other way out.
