After the shit the Derpocrats have pulled from Obamacare to their push for gun control It's obvious that the left is out of control but the same thing could be said for the GOP with anti pro choice push etc etc. I don't like either of em and honestly the 08 election was the worst of two worlds. Obama - Socialist, Mccain - two faced weasel.
The truth is if a strong third party was formed with enough backing I believe they could take the White House (People of the Rand Paul, Ted Cruz mentality)

The Independents just never had the financial backing needed and short of the GOP becoming more open to social topics it will still continue to be these kind of presidential races.

I support the GOP because I have to.......They are the only thing stopping Obama's legacy but I really wish they would pull their heads out of their asses once in a while.

I hear ya. The problem though, is getting people on board with a party that seeks to eliminate or reduce the ability of the government as a tool of personal wealth.

Even if you aren't employed in the .gov, it is still a means to eliminate competition and funnel funds for personal benefit.

Yeah I know I'm cynical.

Agree with SaigamanTX. Both parties betrayed the nation and will continue to do so with the false dichotomy of the two party system. The American people buy into it blindly not realizing that they're just one party with two names.

Please do this with people who would normally vote for Democrats. If you do it for conservatives, the sucking sound will be electoral votes changing from Republican candidates to Democrats.

The GOP spoke and voiced that those who see a fiscally responsible party that leaves personal choices to people are "wacko birds".

The last thing we need is something to divide the GOP voting base.

If anyone thinks a 3rd party will strengthen things for conservatives, then you fail at math.

The 3rd party people need to take back the GOP, and steer it harder to the right.

The problem with third parties is that they attract the nut balls, like troofers and shit so most people won't take them seriously.

what we need is people to be involved in primaries and educating others on what candidates actual platforms are.

the parties are not inherently evil but the fact that a few people pull most of the strings for those parties and people are not involved and informed enough is a problem

Red versus blue, right versus left, liberal versus conservative, Republican versus Democrat propaganda. It is nothing more than propaganda. They’re all equally corrupt. They are all equally and dispassionately involved in the redistribution of mammoth amounts of money that does not belong to them. They all routinely violate their oaths of office. They all routinely skirt morality and skirt ethics in doing so by violating their oaths

How are they going to get "strong" if everyone keeps talking each other out of voting for them?

With regards to the POTUS, I cant vote Repub or Dem, with a couple very rare exceptions, Rand Paul being one of them.

What anti/pro choice push ? Its mostly liberals bringing that up and making it a issue. Its working as this post shows.

How many Republicans are actually pushing to ban abortion ? What are the chances of it happening ?

It is largelly a made up issue and the democrats are using it well.

Many of us 3rd partiers don't want a hard right party.

The problem is that we have a big government rightish party, and a big government leftish party. I don't care if it's left or right, I only care that it's small.

(you can try and argue that the hard "right" is a small government, but lets face it, that hasn't been the case for many decades)

If I had voted for McCain last time around, could I say with satisfaction that I was happy with that choice? No way. McCain in no way represents me and neither do the dems. I will not vote for the lessor of two evils ever again. That process had never worked well. Third party or I'm sitting out.

You may be cynical, but you nailed it.

Why do big companies contribute so much money to political campaigns, hire lobbyist, and work with government on crafting regulations?
Why are most politicians wealthy?
Why do 20% of all government employees consider the Tea Party a greater "terrorist" threat then radical Islamists?

Most people are voting against a candidate, few vote for a candidate. If they'd just realize what you've realized, alternatives and third parties wouldn't be small.

But almost everyone goes with the flow. They vote for "the lessor of two evils".

The RIGHT candidates will NEVER have the monetary muscle of the WRONG candidates. Those that use government as a means to personal wealth. The reason is simple to understand. Big companies don't contribute to deregulation candidates. The truth is big business may say they want less regulation, but the truth is they like it. They like to eliminate potential competition. We have a huge Gordian Knot of a problem in this country.

QFT.

I have to wonder how many people you could get amped up and to the polls if you went hard right with things like:

- term limits,
- ending political correctness,
- completely reversing obamacare,
- sealing the border,
- deporting illegals,
- drastic cutbacks on welfare,
- drastic cutbacks on foreign aid,
etc., etc.

But a thrid party is a guarantee of a victory for the Dems. And Ross Perot? Come on, he didn't get but like 18% of the vote - hardly enough to change the balance of power; just enough to guarantee a Dem victory.

Killing the first past the post system is a prerequisite for national third parties. With this system, we're forced to work at the state level.

I toyed with the idea of starting a super conservative party called KROP (Keeping Religion Out of Politics). It seems that anything that starts off conservative tends to get co-opted by the religious right, well, this would make it considerably harder seeing as though the primary planks would be unfettered liberty, minimized government influence (hand outs) in public and private life, and the idea that a man's personal religion is kept separate and private from the manner in which government business is handled.

-You want an abortion? Fine, that's up to your conscious and the higher power to decide your fate, not government's.
-You want to smoke up the reefer or whatever your drug of choice is? Your life, your choice however don't expect ANY sort of government handout if you fuck up your life. If you cause death or injury to another due to you being high or drunk, look the fuck out though, this .gov size 11 is going to push in your stool for a few decades in the Pen. Tell Bubba we said "Hi".
-Don't want to work? Ok, I hope you like begging, digging through trash for food or relying on the fellowship of your church.
-You want to create a brand new technology that may or may not be feasible? Outstanding! However don't expect a government hand out if you fail or your product doesn't sell. Subsidies? Nope. Let the market decide.
-You want to marry your butt buddy or scissors friend? Good to go, have fun! Government should have no place in deciding what is or is not marriage, that's up to the Church, not government.
-Curious about the viscosity of cold ketchup or some other sort of research? Good one you, hope someone else will fund you, the taxpayers won't.
-Term limits are good, career politicians are bad, you are a citizen first, not the ruling elite. By the way, want to be corrupt? You can share the cell with the above mentioned guy and Bubba.
-You like the newest military hardware, jet planes, missiles and or other wonderful tools that create mayhem and keep our enemies in check? Sweet, when it is built let us know so we can see if it fits mission parameters, it so we will buy it if the price is right. Government money doesn't exist, all of it belongs to the taxpayers so expect our accountants to go over .gov purchases with a fine tooth comb. This waste WILL STOP.
-If it can legitimately and logically be privatized it should be. Those that which can not should be funded appropriately so they have the tools, training, and good people to abide by the mission statement. A fair wage for a fair job, and a fair effort. However if you are a useless slacker you can find a new job because there won't be any public unions to protect your lazy or incompetent ass. One that note what is good for the government is good for it's people and vice-versa. Like shooting dogs and-or people in a no-knock gone bad and it is due to incompetence, enjoy your lawsuit and again, tell the druggy, corrupt politician, and Bubba we said "hi"
-Defense of the nation, creation of money, and treaties is our primary mission. That said, if you confuse our live and let live attitude with weakness, BOY YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMING! Our shit will be lean, mean, and very very capable. See above
-One Bill, one vote. Period. Riders and omnibuses are a thing of the past.
-Too stupid to pass sixth grade? Stay there until you are 16, than you can go dig ditches. Ditches will always need to be dug.

I suppose there is more, and things could be straightened out some, but the general gist is that government is to be viewed like a cancer; it will continue to grow if fed and will eventually kill the host if left to it's own wild devices. This government has gotten it slimy tentacles into every nook and cranny or private life and it needs to stop. Now that I have essentially offended and antagonized most voters that would pretty much be the beginning and the end of my political aspiration. Flame on! Hate to post and run, but I need to get the fuck out of this apartment, it's making me cray cray in the head.

I fear the problem is too far gone. Kings do not simply relinquish their power. It's going to take a lot more than a voting booth to establish a new party. Most people only understand what's spoon fed to them via whatever media and add to that the fact that this generation can't see anything else but "me". Getting any kind of majority to look beyond their iPhone is going to prove difficult. It's only a matter of time before people that feel the way some of us do in this thread get labeled as terrorists or liberals or communist or whatever the word of the day is.
