Without warning, the state Senate approved a bill early Friday morning that would exempt retired law enforcement officers from new ammunition restrictions in New York’s new gun control law, the SAFE Act.

The measure sprang onto the chamber floor shortly before 2 a.m., and drew howls from some of the GOP’s Republican members.

I'm sure the founding fathers had a two tier, or even three tier system of rights when they created the Bill of Rights.

Tier one rights = All politicians
Tier Two = The people paid to do the politicians bidding
Tier Three = Everyone else

No, the Court would find that a regular private citizen wasn't "similarly situated" with a retired LEO, even though a retired LEO is a regular private citizen.

Yeah, this is a good thing in that way.

Also will help maintain a steady flow of magazines into NY... which can facilitate a more accessible black market.

Not that I'd recommend such things, just musing.
