Haha it's the first thing she does when we stop by.   Then she asked me to clear the ak47 and AR15 laying on couch so she can sit down.

Coffee, sans smoke.  Should be finishing up that checkering today, get the finish done on the wood, and then get started on the metal.  Fun with HCl!

Hey puck, picked one for you. It was ww1 and my great grandfather said he was issued a Colt revolver in stead of a 1911.
But he lost it in no mans land. We all heard that story before. Fast forward almost 40 years and my grandfather was clearing mines in France.
What does he find. Not his Colt but a Colt just like it.
The trigger being back and hammer down may be a sad reminder that someone was holding it when it was buried.
But he brought it back and told my great grandfather not to lose it again. The grip is bent right and cyl missing. The old girl needs a face lift.
Can you make it look like new???? Hell I might just send it so you have a great conversation piece in the shop.

Would we need a ffl transfer? I was just going to drop it in a box and mail it.

The day kind of turned to crap.
Ultrasound to look for a bleed in my abdomen Liver kidney and spleen plus I know I have gall stones but they don't bother me.
Fasted all night went to head out all shaky with no food or drink and click click click. Battery toast again.
Called and the rescheduled for tomorrow, off to Autozone for a battery and might as well pick up my Mobil 1 and a filter for the change.
So tomorrow I get ultra sounded and then get my ass home. Being really anemic just drains the energy out of you.
If it was his ass shit would be happening pronto. But it's my ass so lets scan and get results for the next two weeks.
When the results from blood already prove it. Platelets at 76 Red blood cells at 2.55 Hemoglobin at 9.3.
Kidney function from the other specialist is at 17%. They are looking for a bleed or a mass. three hours of sleep a night isn't cutting it.

OK I am done with the whining.I am officially a puss. But I hope your day went better than mine.
I will be fasting till 10:30 tomorrow.

Advanced restoration project

And that's a very good question about a transfer... no transfer needed to/from me, but if you were actually transferring it to someone, I have no idea what you'd do.  It's not old enough to be an antique, but there's no way to correctly fill out a 4473 for it either.

OK I am back and in a better mood. So how the hell would you send that to someone?
Would it be illegal to drop in the mail considering it's basically a club.

Should I just drop it in GD and let them hash it out?

That's a good question... I mean it's technically still a firearm, but completely unserviceable.  I've gotta call ATF tomorrow, I'll see what they say.

I threw it out in GD and they are chewing on it now. Feel free to forward the picture if the atf wants it.
But really what do you do if a gun is unfix-able? I would also like to know.

Good evening, gang!

So first off, holy crap, M1 I hope they get you back functioning quickly.  That sounds awful.    We used to go to Scottsdale all the time, but not so much these days.  I'd love to get a few days out there to stop by and say hello!

OT, I love those storm clouds!  AZ storms are some of my favorite.  I love being out there this time of year!

Mrs. KAD and I went shopping today for her... we bought her a Mossberg Maverick 88 20ga for dove season.  Cheap, but won't be used a ton.  I figure it'll do the trick!  Can't wait to take her out into the field.  We're looking forward to it.

I had a DC trip recently and went to see Arlington, the monuments, and other sights.  We're in DC all the time, but I've never made a trip down there.  The other guy has been down there a time or two so I went along with him.  Getting to see THE Dec. of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights was pretty awesome.  I thought for sure the Constitution would have been moved to Obummer's private restroom.    Oh, I did get my picture in front of the White House, lol.

Seeing the Vietnam, WWII, and Korean War memorials was......well, there's just no words for it.  Walking around Arlington was incredible.  It was so sad seeing the sacrifice.  Words can't begin to describe it.  I loved seeing the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the guard, and changing of the guard.  That was amazing.

I am looking forward to going back to see more!

Yeah, I hear ya.  It was hard to have any sense of pride or joy when standing in front of the WH knowing who (may have been) was inside.    But, I love my Country.  Seeing everything else was awe-inspiring.  Loved it!

Also got to see the Spirit of St. Louis, the Bell X-1, and one of the Wright Flyers...all original, not replicas.  As a pilot, that's bad ass, but, as an American, it still doesn't compare to everything else I saw.
