If it makes you feel any better I'd like to meet up with you for a fishing trip.  The pictures you post look amazing.

The fishing here used to be really good but not so much anymore.  Between the drought hurting the wild trout populations, budget cuts that have reduced stocking and way more fishing pressure these days it's just not as good here as used to be.

Lol, well if you're gonna be up that late, at least it's doing something fun.

Life's good here.  Been busy with work, but this week isn't too bad.  I have a few days to kill here at home and then Mrs. KAD and I head to Vegas over the weekend for my 20 yr HS reunion.  That should be a good time!

Got a phone call early this morning from my Dad's phone, which is odd, and then it's my step-mom on the other end, so of course I'm freaking out.  The first words she says is, "Your Dad's going to be fine..."    Then she explains he just went into surgery: appendix.  She called a little bit ago and said they're bringing him out and the Doc said he's just fine.  Still, friggin' scary start to the morning!

Yikes man! Glad it's just the appendix, but thas some scary shit!

Vegas for the 20 year? Sounds like things could get debaucherous real quick! Bet that will be fun though. You still talk to anyone from highschool?

My 10 year was last year, no one bothered to invite me. I went to a rich high school, and was 1 of maybe 10 poor kids there. Never fit in I guess, and was openly chastised for enlisting in the mil. Fuck em.

Ha, yeah, Vegas is what everyone voted for, lol.  It wasn't my first choice, but whatever.  I went to a small, Christian high school (which makes me scratch my head more about Vegas) and we had a graduating class of 38 people.  Most of us are on Facebook, which is how we coordinated everything.  I still talk to a small handful of friends and occasionally get to see some of them.  It should be fun.  There aren't that many coming though, maybe around 12 or so (plus spouses).  I'm just looking forward to taking my wife to pound town, I mean Vegas.

Sucks about your situation, but sounds like you're much better off without those schmucks!!!

Hey OT, good to see you, too!  I just haven't been spending a "ton" of time on ARF lately.  I log in several times throughout the day, but mainly just to skim the first page of GD to see what's going on.  You know how it is, GD is often the best source for news in a day, lol.  We don't have cable, so I come here first.    Since I usually skim the first page, if the Sa/oU thread isn't on there, I often miss it and forget to check in.  My own fault!

That sucks.  I haven't looked for/bought .22 in years.  I figure I'd just save myself the disappointment, lol.

One of our LGSs just closed their doors and opened up a brand new facility on the NE side of town.  Their original store, while really nice, was small and had no shooting range.  This new facility is bad ass and includes a really nice range.  They posted a photo on their FB recently...a HUGH pile of .22 available!  TONS!  I was out in the middle of a 5 day trip, so no luck.

I am not empty.  I have had some good help from a couple of memebers here with it and thats the only way my kid has been shooting on a regular basis this summer.  She was shooting about 100 rounds per outing, but now she is down to about 60 or so with mausers little bolt action CZ scout he let us borrow, less rounds and better shooting.  We are going tomorrow or thursday morning, I have to go out ever week looking or we will be empty by the end of summer, but i will do it and I am not buying neckbearded ammo so I have to do some ground work. So there are 3 stores that I hit each week.  Usually I can find a box or two somewhere but sometimes not.  I guess it could be worse, but im blessed with my friends here on Sa/oU who took pity on my daughter and donated to the cause.

Thanks guys.

It could be worse, and maybe bennjammin can tell me, but i dont think California is even selling lead bullets anymore, thats got to be playing havock with the 22LR avalibility there.

If you don't read GD, you're thoroughly uninformed.  Once you've read GD, you're thoroughly misinformed.

Met with the Specialist.  The proposed surgery of more than two years ago @ the L4/L5 isn't necessary at this time, but he proposed a revision decompression at L5/S1.  I've already had a revision there and am losing faith as I'm not liking the idea of "third times a charm".  He also didn't sound very reassuring after he noted that it would be more difficult/tricky due to the previous surgeries and described his success rate as "pretty fair" with an estimate of 75-80% chance of improvement.

That's exactly why I passed on the 3 dissectomy and 3 vertebrae fusion surgery. Surgeon doesn't sound confident? Yeah, pass, I'm not going through the rest of my life with botched surgery pain,. Ive seen the results of that. I'm going on my shitty back until I literally can't move anymore.

Sorry about that man, ultimately it's up to you to make the decision that's best for you. I'm sure you will find the best solution for your self, unfortunately sometimes that just means choosing the lesser of two evils.

No problem.  Teaching me how to make someone puke is all I need.

Evidently a ancient secret of a zen master....Remember the footwork is crucial, standing directly in front. Is not the place to be.
When dodging a load of gravy...  Sometimes I crack myself up.

There you go Hooligan, your at the top now.
Sorry about that.

What he is talking about is something we used to do back in the day. If you have a defensive lineman playing kind of shitty, you could fix that.
Take your hand and follow the sternum down till it ends then two or three fingers below that. If you could punch him there he would throw up immediately.
Enchiladas for everyone. Nothing like a defensive player with Gatorade and spaghetti coming out of his nose. You really wanted to make some yards on a hot day. Because you didn't want to be fighting over a pile of puke... I told him that and I thought he was going to puke. If you lose your footing.
He will knock you over and barf on you. Then the funny ass comments would start. Lunch is on you, both sides always got to laughing over the,
"hey that smells good where did you eat" "he needs to chew his food better""don't you wish he ordered the salad"and the always popular,
"Do you want a drink to go" There are others but I will spare you. Thought Hooligan was going to pass out.

I may have missed it but would seeing a chiropractor help?

I spoke to M1 on the phone about this, but all you chime in. Just trying to figure out exactly what this is. It's got "HS" stamping all over it, chambered in 30-06. My guess wad a seriously chopped up '03, but my knowledge on this type of stuff is almost non existent.

Yes and no.  If the disc impinges nerve, inflaming muscle, misaligning bones causing more issues down the line.... sure.  But he can't fix the disc-to-nerve interference which kicks things off. He can address the symptoms. Think of it as a "stacking of tolerances".  When it comes to someone with a known disc injury; caution is king as it's very possible to cause more harm than good.

FWIW my chiropractor is my firstborn's namesake.

It's a 7.62mm Whelen Super Light Magnum.  Which is all you need to know.

ETA: Unless someone fucked with the original chambering.

Also- AFAIK, "HS" is contract marking for "High Standard".

Here it is.  Highly modified though. It doesn't show High standard as a maker.
So if it is that's a rare rifle. Google images for 1917 enfield, can't miss the bolt handle.
