Yeah, I rushed that trying to get all caught up on the thread and it came out all broken up and stupid.

While I like the appearance of the longer tube being flush with the barrel, I wouldn't recommend it be changed. Reading your last sentence I quote here, you may have your answer to the "should I?" which moves us to the "can I?".  AFAIK, it should be a fairly straightforward job for a gunsmith, but I'm not much in the know on lever guns. It appears your barrel would need to be dovetailed for the longer tube and then you'd be left with a superfluous dovetail from where the shorter tube was installed which I suppose could be filled in. So again, I wouldn't change it. HTH.

Cabela's had a bunch of those SBLs on their racks awhile back and even though I'm not much of a lever guy they caught my eye.

The price then blackened it.  Besides, they weren't in 50 Alaskan...

Ohhhh shit i do remember now, he is the one who shot Vicky Weaver while holding the baby.  They totally fucked up that whole situation and there was no accountability for it.  Even worse is the people who made the screwed up rules of engagment were the same people who ran the Waco fiasco.  Yea that was some seriously stupid stuff, very sad.  I maybe wronge about some details.  I am going to read up on it now.

Two books worth getting if you're going to learn up on the fiasco are:  "The Federal Siege at Ruby Ridge" (In Our Own Words) by Randy & Sara Weaver with forward by Colonel James "Bo" Gritz and "Vicki, Sam & America" (How the Government Killed all Three) By Randy Weaver with foreword by Sheriff Richard Mack.

Agreed, wtf was troy thinking.  I dont know why any gun company would hore that guy.  Even with the anti 2nd amendment guy.  Some serious hiring issues.  They could probobly start the road to recovery if they would move out of Massachusetts and hire better people starting with the ones who do the hiring.

Harumph! He better get his tail feathers back to the water and make sure there's enough!

Until last year I wouldn't touch seafood.  In the Bakken we went to a casino and hit up the buffet on all you can eat crab legs night.  My buddy consoled me and said, "Just try em' and if you don't like em' there's always steak at the buffet".  I played it safe and ordered a steak as I tried the crab legs.  I put down 3 plates and watched as the third guy in our party, who had eaten 3 bratrust off the BBQ in camp prior to being told we were heading to the buffet, downed 12 plates.

I've vowed if I ever get to the South or East, I'd be down to try whatever they're slinging.  I'm still cautious of seafood round these parts though, because I'm fairly certain there's "fresh" and then there's what we get...

And all the fixings for good enchiladas. Just make sure you know where the snakes are before you go reaching in there.
Everything should be fine after that. I mean how many can say step one in my meal was chopping the heads off with a shovel in the back yard.

Keep in mind Troy didn't hire Lon, they hired his partner Dale Monroe who said that he'd have taken the same illegal shot that murdered Vicki Weaver had Lon not pulled the trigger. Troy's real issue is that he doubled down on the error instead of correcting it.

IIRC Lon is or was a spokesman for HS Precision.

I never have left much to eat when I'm done with buzz worms.

And all the fixings for good enchiladas. Just make sure you know where the snakes are before you go reaching in there.

I had a problem with a buddies .270, we were out working on it and troubleshooting stuff out at my old "range" for most of the day.

Towards the end, we were walking to swap targets, and some rattler took a bite at me with no warning. I dodged it, and it started to squirm away. I ran back and thumped him with the .270.

My idiot friend said they were poisonous to eat, I argued that wasnt true, so I cooked him up and ate a bunch right there, just to prove a point.

You come at me, I will EAT you.

Rattle snake makes a good meal, except all the little bones.
