Event Horizon fucked my mind for quite a while.  See, Sci-Fi Horror will mess with me much easier than standard hack-n-slash horror crap.  Cause, for all we know, stuff like EH and Alien could be out there...

As a kid, the ear worms in Khan got me good, too.

Yeah, that was just stupid.  The whole premise of the movie was stupid.  It could have been a great movie, but the ship jumped to hell and back?

Stupid.

So you're saying it was stupid?

The chestburster was much worse. You can really feel it in the breastbone watching it violently push out.

Battle royal is on netflix now.  Its a jap movie and isn't something I am normally into.  It is basically the exact same as hunger games.  Future problems a culling ect.  All the kids in the class are woken on an island they have to kill blah blah.

The scene I found most interesting was the light house massacre.  I couldn't find a good example of it on you tube the one below has commentary throughout and the guy is a bit of a douche.  The students have to kill each other and at the end of the 3 days if more than one is alive they all die.  If you are the last you get to live.  The kids still band together and stuff. One boy is hurt and brought by another classmate to a light house where several girls are hiding out.  One of the girls doesn't like that there is a guy she doesn't trust and her weapon is poison so she is gonna off him with that.  Another girl grabs the food intended for him and gets her poison on dies and they girls turn on each other.  Pretty crazy scene.  Makes me think a lot about what would really happen as a society if it was acceptable to have trial by combat in our schools or if children were given the option to end people they don't particularly care for.

I should figure out how to embed at some point.

I don't think it was supposed to literally be hell as in the Christian hell. It was some sort of very fucked up parallel dimension. Actually that concept freaks me the fuck out. Stuff like The Mist, the episode of Star Trek where aliens from a parallel dimension are abducting and experimenting on the crew, etc. Event Horizon didn't actually freak me out though. It was an alright movie though.

It was a dimension of pure evil.  Evil means that people shove their arms up their asses and pull out their guts.  Or down their throats and pull out their guts.

Space 1999. Episode where the gang finds a spaceship graveyard. Monster in one of the ships sucks you in, then spits out a smoldering pile of bones and goo that went sliding down the hallway.

My little brother and I were watching that episode. It was on right after the Muppet Show if I remember correctly.

I'll go with Stephen King's "The Mist", mainly the religious nut job woman in the grocery store, but also the ending with Thomas Jane. I can watch a lot of gore and think, "okay, it's just make up...". But the thought of being so hopeless that you'd off your own child and a few others, only to beg for death with hope and rescue moments later, that's a true hell. Yeesh...

Apparently there is some lost footage that got cut from the film that extended the video that was recorded. Also some more random stuff that affects more crew members. The studio executives cut it from the film because it was so graphic and didn't think it would qualify for the R rating at the time.

There is a part in The AniMatrix that tells the story of the original machine vs man war.

Starts off with men kicking ass, walking around in these big robot tank suits.  Ends up with them being held down with machine tentacles while other tentacles rip off the armor to get to the helpless guy inside the suit, while the radio overhead says "Keep firing, for gods sake, keep firing"

Freaks me out trying to type this.  I may have to go watch it again now.

I remember seeing that at an early matinée back when it came out.  Just a handful of people in the theater and I may have/have not been stoned.  I heard somewhere in the back someone exclaim "GodDAMN" at that scene.  Also may have influenced someone to quit smoking pot.

Jacob's ladder is up there.

One that really disturbed me was in one of "The Fly" movies where the female lead learns she's pregnant and dreams she gives birth to a giant maggot. seriously that is messed up.
