A New Hampshire fireworks store has told the FBI that it sold four-hundred dollars worth of fireworks in February to accused Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
The gunpowder in fireworks is often used in bombs. "He just wanted the biggest, loudest stuff we had in the store," said Megan Kearns, the assistant manager of Phantom Fireworks, in an interview with ABC News affiliate WMUR. Kearns said Tsarnaev -- the older of the two brothers now accused in the blast -- bought two large reloadable mortar kits during a two for one sale. She said she remembered Tamerlan because of his Russia accent. The store has since confirmed his purchase with store records. I can't search for dupes in GD, so here toy go. |

Really? That is some hardcore retard right there. I can just see these mental midgets unwrapping 5,000,000,000 black cats.
|
|
Hmmm... mortar kits would be used for both the black powder in the lift charges, and possibly for the flash powder in aerial salutes.

Wait until they ban aerial mortars.
It's not just reloading being affected. My ability to tell the government to fuck off with large amounts of misdemeanor fun on Independence Day is being threatened here. |

The article says the might have used mortars. I say they may have used frog semen. Who the fuck is going to pay $400 for half a pound of consumer grade explosives? |

And this will further spark the MA liberals attempts to influence what is and is not legal in their neighbor to the north.

Stump remover. cut open shotgun shells, all sorts of stuff would be a lot cheaper. You can buy gunpowder at walmart ( or you can in PA anyways). |

I have bought over $400 worth of fireworks at one time. That will probably get you on a special list now And $400 really doesn't buy you all that much. Why would you buy fireworks for powder instead of gun powder? |

I have $200 worth of mortar shells in my storage building that I bought for New Years but I got called out and did not get to use them. |

It's possible but the Mfg. says there was not enough powder in the items he purchased to make IED's of the size that were used.
The article I read earlier said they might have used these to experiment in their bomb making. There was a Police Report from the area of someone setting of homemade fireworks and it said that a friend of Douche # 2 had sent him a twitter message stating "I heard you were poppin fireworks this weekend" or something to the effect. |

You can buy a firework ICBM everywhere except whatever state you reside in.

A non-LE source telling us what the bombs were "likely" made from?!?!?
|

Biggest chemical explosions are from fuel and dust bombs I purpose we ban flour and all types of fuel.

I guess some folks didn't play with fireworks growing up. $400 bucks worth of that shit would blow all the doors and windows out of a house easy, might lift the roof as well. Fireworks like those bought are, in fact, bombs in paper casings. These Shitbirds followed Chechen instructions on converting them to fragmentation bombs. Smokeless powder, even bullseye, will not detonate, it is nothing but a flammable solid. A steam explosion is more deadly than a several pounds of any smokeless powder lighting off. |

So they exploited the "Fireworks Stand Loophole?" I LOL'd But it won't be funny in the end |

Ban fireworks.
At the very least, expand background checks to fireworks vendors and fireworks shows. No one should be in the vicinity of a fireworks show without the proper background check. Its for the kids. |

I guess I don't know too much about "serious" fireworks but what did they buy? They bought mortar launched starburst shells. Think "bombs bursting in air" type fireworks you see on the 4th of July. |
