I took a pistol course where they put up a few of those "nontraditional" shoot/no-shoot targets as part of a go-in-blind evolution.
I shot the FUCK out of a pregnant chick holding a flip phone out to take a picture. 
Afterwards, the instructor's like, "Why'd you shoot the pregnant chick?" I said, "She had a gun." Really? Let's go take a look... Well, it looked like a gun. Uh huh. Lots of things look like guns. Did you tell her to drop the gun before you put four rounds in her chest? Uhh... I swear, it was just like that scene in Men in Black, except I didn't have a good excuse.

Any of them with a cell phone always got blasted..lol We just didn't have enough time to train to get to the point where we could target ID like we were delta force or some shit. Any target holding anything was killed..haha The only ones that didn't get shot were the obvious ones where the target had its hands up or something. One time my TL screwed up and had me go into a room as the point man with the SAW.. all the targets were kids. I hosed them all down.. the commander wasn't pleased

lol! Humbling, isn't it.
The first time I trained with sims was in a lowlight scenario. I shot the controller who was standing upright (not crouching and stalking), wearing a different uniform and a reflective orange safety vest, because he "snuck up on me" as I did a quick check 6 before I entered another structure. He was all like "dude, I've been 5 yards behind you for like 15 minutes and you decide to shoot me now?" |
