Please Help Take Action, Senate Hearings To Start Next Week!
The following gun control bills are being introduced into the Minnesota Senate next week. I urge you all to please take the time to e-mail or call the following Reps. Like whats going on in the post for action in Colorado, I really appreciate everyone, regardless of what state you live in, taking time to e-mail and call. Please help keep pressure on, if it passess here it just gives more momentum for other states to follow suite!

To Start Next Week!

Extreme anti-Second Amendment legislation has been introduced in Minnesota. These bills follow the New York model by proposing to make it illegal to possess magazines that hold more than 7 bullets, defining "assault weapons" so broadly that very few semi-automatic weapons would be excluded; making it illegal to possess an "assault weapon" that was not possessed as of February 1, 2013; requiring registration of "assault weapons"; and making it illegal to possess standard capacity magazines possessed before the ban.

At first glance, the 7-round limit doesn't distinguish between internal or detachable magazines, so even M1 Garands would become "assault weapons." And there's more. Registering an "assault weapon" would require a background check, would need to be redone annually, would automatically give permission for LE to inspect your home for safe storage, fees would be charged for registration. You would be unable to buy more or even transfer them to your children. Instead, on death the weapons would need to be rendered inoperable or turned over to law enforcement.

This right here!!

We are all in this together.  The antis started a piece at a time, and now they're at state levels!  As "0" said last night, these DO deserve a vote...  A NO VOTE!!!

When I checked their website earlier it still isn't on the senate's schedule.

Our hometown forum says Thursday at 10 am Capitol 15.

The states are being set up one by one.

This is a well-funded, coordinated assault on the 2nd.

This is why the boycotts matter. Boycotts were not an anticpated result, and they knock the SOB's off balance.

Any unintended consequences will make them pause, and slow their onslaught.

If this is anything like Colorado you'll have VP Biden behind the scenes calling the fence sitters to pull them in line with the agenda.  It may seem at times to be an uphill battle, but you have to keep hammering them with your input.  Hopefully the makeup of your House and Senate are a bit more even than ours.

I emailed all of them.  Here is the body of my email:

The state government of Minnesota is going to be voting on some important bills this year, some of which would limit the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. I serve in the military, and the Constitution is very dear to me.  It is one of the things that defines us as Americans, and is one of the reasons I serve.  I'm asking you, please support the enforcement of existing laws against violent crimes and firearms violations instead of wasting our tax dollars pursuing legislation that will only limit law-abiding citizens' rights. These laws will probably not save a single life, but will hinder your voters when they need to defend themselves or the ones they love.  I understand that you are under pressure from powerful people who want to use tragedy to pursue thier own agenda, but I'm asking you to protect my rights, as I protect yours.  Thank you for your time and I implore you to use logic, not emotion, while voting on these bills.

The Minnesota Senate will not act to ban assault weapons or high-capacity ammunition clips this year, a DFL leader said Monday.

Sen. Ron Latz, DFL-St. Louis Park, who is chairing the
Senate’s gun hearings this week, said he will focus on closing the
loopholes in background checks and leave the issue of banning weapons or
ammunition to Congress.

"The assault weapons ban and high-capacity magazine ban
proposals are highly divisive,” said Latz, chairman of the Senate
Judiciary Committee. Legions of concerned gun owners turned out for
three days of hearings on gun issues last week, and Latz said such bans
also do not have strong support from law enforcement.

Incidentally, for those not fluent in LiberalSpeak, "highly divisive" in this case loosely translates to "Senator Franken won't have a chance in Hell of getting re-elected next year if this passes."

It was reported in the leftist/Socialists Newspaper the Star Tribune, that the AWB, and mag caps are off the table this year, but everything else is still a go. The sad part at the hearings last week, 500-800 people on the pro 2a side showed up, the antis had about 50 max. Yet these stupid legislators still want to push this crap forward, my bet is MN will be red state in 2014, and I will do my best to make it so. Not to mention like every other blue state they are up to their eyeballs in debt, but he lets work on taking away peoples freedom because that is clearly more important than the future of the state, and it's people.

They also want add a portion to the CCW law that states that carrying in banned place, or business that puts up sign saying you can't carry which is not only a petty misdemeanor. Now they want to make the first time Gross misdemeanor publishable by up to a year in jail and fines, for the first offense, and a second offense a felony.

Current state laws states first DUI is a misdemeanor, second, and third are gross misdemeanors, and finally your fourth is a felony.  So clearly people with CCW permits in business that ban the carry of firearms are far more dangerous than those that drink and drive. MN is becoming a fucked up state. Nanny state NY wanna be.

Franken was elected in a three-way race by just a few thousand fraudulent votes.  In an election where Barack Obama won the state by over 10 percentage points.

So yeah, he's probably sweating bullets.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to find out Franken and the DNC got the bill pulled.

I think that just means the senate isn't going forward with a ban bill.  doesn't mean the house won't pass their bill and then have the senate vote on it without amendments.  So don't believe the propaganda that it is dead.

Well I sent a similar letter to Colorado the other day, and  here is what I sent to Minnesota.  Just so happens that these are the two states I spend the most time in outside of my home state.  IL will be next anyways, but I am running out of other states I can honestly threaten to not spend my money.   Oh and I got about 9 autoreplies instantly with bullshit responses.  Sorry guys...wish I could do more.

Dear Congressmen,

I am writing to you in regards to the following gun control legislation which many of you purportedly support:

House Bill 238 – Guns in school zones, more penalties
House Bill 239 – Guns in public, more penalties
House Bill 240 – Mental Health applying to guns

Although I do not reside in your fine state, I have been traveling and doing business there for many years.  I vehemently oppose ANY and ALL legislation which further restricts my fellow Americans' 2nd amendment right.  I consider any prohibitive laws passed to be a direct assault on our civil liberties and myself, along with many more Americans, have taken this current push to strip our rights extremely personally and of the utmost importance.

While I can not support or oppose any of you with my electoral vote, there are still many actions that I am willing to impose on the state of Minnesota.  If a single bill passes, I will no longer be spending a single dime of my personal or companies money in your state.  I have been traveling to the Brainerd area for many years for our annual fishing trip, but I will not longer continue to support a state that treats its citizens as criminals.  I will find a new destination for our trip if a single bill is passed. Being from IL I personally know the frustration these people are feeling and have decided to make it my mission to not stand idly by, whether it be my state or others. The state and federal government has overreached and many common men like myself are going to make a stand and oppose you and your brethren in any way possible.

Just as in my state, many of you seem to take the constitution as a suggestion and have deemed yourselves fit to erroneously think you have some right to determine which fundamental rights your citizens are allowed to exercise.  Furthermore, your new laws serve no purpose and will have no effect on current crime.

You are waging war on the law abiding citizens who support and provide for your state by proposing these draconian laws which turn the common man into a felon overnight.  The incompetent response of you laying blame at the feet of the innocent citizen is blatant and reprehensible.

For those of you that support the Minnesotan citizens' rights and will vote no, thank you for standing up for what is right.  I am sorry it has to come to this, as I have always enjoyed our trips there.  But my family and friends can no longer support a state who imposes such unconstitutional restrictions on its citizens.

Thank you all for your time and service.

Best Regards,
Scott Nunan
