The walmart near me has all the FUDD calibers (22-250, 7mm-08), 1 box of hunting x39, and oddball .22 ( birdshot and a few subsonics) but for a few months in a row, absolutely no regular ammo

horrible ammo. more failure to feed and more loose bullets than good rounds (resulting in the bullet bending in the cartridge), I won't load it in the 10/22 anymore. I have a couple boxes and I almost considered throwing them out. My 10/22 will eat anything else all day long.

At least in the 225 packs at Walmart, they improved the priming compound and I find them to be very good in my Bersa Thunder 22.

Just got back from wal mart. No 22lr bulk packs. No 7.62x39 Tula.
No ammo cans of anything. The UMC 250 rd 45acp was also gone. No Colts. But according to clerk all of the above will show up eventually. |

I have had bad luck in the past with Golden Bullets, but having friends buy them and then having just bought a few, I think they may have changed their recipe or something.
I had the same terrible performance before, but this latest batch runs really good. |

Wally World was out of all but .17 HMR and .22 Shotshells in rimfire the other day... All they had in semiauto pistol ammo was .40 and .380. The only thing I was suprised at was the one box of 7.62x39 sitting all by its self up there.

Academy had a shopping cart full of 22lr. They also had a shipment of Pmags. As I walk up I notice several guys with arm fulls of pmags. I was literally seconds too late. I knew I shouldn't have taken that phone call in the parking lot before I went in.

FTR - The Rem Golden BBs work perfectly in my Walther P22s and Ruger 10/22s.
However, they and every other 22lr brand are not to be had in my local Wally Worldz.

I have two older .22LR High-Standard pistols and that Remington bulk-pack ammo won't feed in either. The Federal bulk-pack from Wal-Mart works fine in both guns.

I have not had great luck with golden bullets in my 10/22 either. I always use Federal bulk packs, but the only thing I can find right now is Winchester 555 packs. I am thankful that these are still available.

The goldens work great in my marlin, and AA glock conversion.
Not so great in my s&w 22a (it works better with round nose). Too bad I bought all 30 boxes the Walmart near me had...yesterday. |

The S&W 41 requires a steady diet of Standard Velocity only. Google it up. Folks with a lot more S&W knowledge than I will tell you. Moreover, the Remington Golds are notorious for busting extractors on semi-auto rifles. Remington is aware and was accepting returns on the ammo. Now they have New & Improved ammo, but it's yet to be dtermined, what, if anything, has changed. |
