The Walmart by my house didn't have shit in stock last night.

A box or two of .40, some .38, and a couple boxes of fudd calibers.

Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal, but I've fired thousands of rounds of Remington Golden Bullets with my Ciener conversion with only a handful of problems. Most of those problems were due to me not keeping the Ciener properly lubed.

Golden Bullets work fine with my Ruger Mark 1. Golden Bullets are turrible in my Spike's dedicated upper (it likes CCI or plain lead bullets).

Remington golden bullet won't even fire in my Remington 597, it is truly junk
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 11:07:21 AM EDT
That's a pretty good deal considering .22LR SnapCaps are usually about a dollar each. Thanks
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 11:07:46 AM EDT
The walmart near me has all the FUDD calibers (22-250, 7mm-08), 1 box of hunting x39, and oddball .22 ( birdshot and a few subsonics) but for a few months in a row, absolutely no regular ammo

My 15-22 loves the cheap stuff. The gsg not so much
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 11:10:01 AM EDT
NONE of the Walmarts near me has had any .22 LR for months.....

Sounds about the sme as the one by me

horrible ammo. more failure to feed and more loose bullets than good rounds (resulting in the bullet bending in the cartridge), I won't load it in the 10/22 anymore. I have a couple boxes and I almost considered throwing them out. My 10/22 will eat anything else all day long.

Nor mine. Worst ammo I've ever used, one of every 10-12 rounds was a dud.

At least in the 225 packs at Walmart, they improved the priming compound and I find them to be very good in my Bersa Thunder 22.
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 11:22:52 AM EDT
Just got back from wal mart. No 22lr bulk packs. No 7.62x39 Tula.
No ammo cans of anything. The UMC 250 rd 45acp was also gone.
No Colts.

But according to clerk all of the above will show up eventually.

They jammed up my Marlin 60 about every other round

Federal was ok

I've checked both walmarts by me several times in the past couple weeks and no bulk .22lr
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 11:26:31 AM EDT
GTG with my basic Ruger 10/22... hardly any problems ever.

Not a bad price, but not fantastic, either.
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 11:27:44 AM EDT
I need to swing by the one near work and see what they have left.
The week before Christmas they had brick of the stuff piled up.

WalMart here in South TX (right now, today) has Winchester M22 22LR black plated 40gr 1000 rd box for about $45. (Maybe not a good price a month ago, but pretty good right now when most dealers are totally out of 22's.)

Maybe it's your substandard hardware? Works fine in my buddy's 10/22. And, best of all, it's available!

Every Wal Mart in my area has been out of everything but .40 and hunting rifle calibers other than .223 and .308 for about the last 2 weeks.

Same here and my Advantage Arms glock conversion

My daughter's AA conversion for her G17 runs great on it as well, as does her Sig 522

I have had bad luck in the past with Golden Bullets, but having friends buy them and then having just bought a few, I think they may have changed their recipe or something.

I had the same terrible performance before, but this latest batch runs really good.

Wally World was out of all but .17 HMR and .22 Shotshells in rimfire the other day... All they had in semiauto pistol ammo was .40 and .380. The only thing I was suprised at was the one box of 7.62x39 sitting all by its self up there.
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 12:22:46 PM EDT
Academy had a shopping cart full of 22lr. They also had a shipment of Pmags. As I walk up I notice several guys with arm fulls of pmags. I was literally seconds too late. I knew I shouldn't have taken that phone call in the parking lot before I went in.

A 41 - beautiful. Want to get one for my wife as that is what she learned to shoot with, but Ohh those prices!!!

FTR - The Rem Golden BBs work perfectly in my Walther P22s and Ruger 10/22s.

However, they and every other 22lr brand are not to be had in my local Wally Worldz.

I have two older .22LR High-Standard pistols and that Remington bulk-pack ammo won't feed in either. The Federal bulk-pack from Wal-Mart works fine in both guns.

No big run on .243?

Smug Fudds are smug.
Wait till they try to pick up a box of .45 for dad's old gun.

I have not had great luck with golden bullets in my 10/22 either. I always use Federal bulk packs, but the only thing I can find right now is Winchester 555 packs. I am thankful that these are still available.

Worth every penny.

People plop down a grand for a mid-grade 1911 without a thought and those guns still usually require
a trip to the gunsmith, upgraded parts and mags and a bunch of fuckwith to get it to run right.
Link Posted: 1/7/2013 12:40:04 PM EDT
Even if I wanted them, which I don't, every Walmart within driving distance to me is cleaned the fuck out of everything.

Might as well have Kate Beckinsale vagina on sale, cause it's about as likely to be sitting on the shelf.

The goldens work great in my marlin, and AA glock conversion.
Not so great in my s&w 22a (it works better with round nose).

Too bad I bought all 30 boxes the Walmart near me had...yesterday.

Uhh...you'll crack the bolt face on the S&W41 if you keep feeding it HV ammo. The S&W 41 requires a steady diet of Standard Velocity only. Google it up. Folks with a lot more S&W knowledge than I will tell you. Moreover, the Remington Golds are notorious for busting extractors on semi-auto rifles. Remington is aware and was accepting returns on the ammo. Now they have New & Improved ammo, but it's yet to be dtermined, what, if anything, has changed.
