Now, tell me again how one gets a flash suppressor on a AR15 in NYS? You have to give up the pistol grip right? |

Throw the book at her. Indeed. If there is a perfect person to make an example out of, she would be it. Show people that helping criminals get guns is a very, very bad game to get involved with. |

If she had bought them for a Mexican drug cartel, this wouldn't be an issue.

She is a fucking idiot... No, she knew exactly what she was doing was wrong and criminal. She needs to serve two consecutive 10-year sentences but it wouldn't break my heart if she served life in prison. |

This is actually wonderful news, and we should be trumpeting it from the rooftops.
This is PROOF POSITIVE that further restrictions won't keep guns from the badguys. This is visible, tangible, and timely proof that those who wish to do harm are not constrained by laws, when they acquire tools with which to do harm. We should be singing this loudly and clearly. LAWS WON'T STOP CRIMINALS OR CRAZIES. |

"The .223-caliber Bushmaster rifle, which had a combat-style flash suppressor, is similar to the one used by the gunman who massacred 20 children and six women in a Newtown, Conn., elementary school earlier this month."
Really? I didn't hear any official confrmation that a Bushy was used at Newtown. |

almost falling in the snow while playing with your phone during an arrest on video is very tactical.

bought at Gander Mountain in NY, it probably had a fixed brake, not a suppressor. You think a NY cop knows the difference? come on

Here's to hoping they bounce the book off of her head.
Charging her as an accessory to murder would be a good start. |

If we tag the straw purchaser with the crimes commited with the gun, that may disuade the behavior.
They reported that she was already a convicted felon. She will probably get a .gov job out of this.
Firing squad for her tomorrow morning, I know not going to happen; the criminal justice system needs to mentally masturbate on it a few years and the national media needs something to do.

Fucking wow....but but but, if we ban those banana clips and those icky guns this wouldn't happen. It's simple, we have laws to prevent this shit, didn't the guy who shoot those firefighters know that murder is against the law?
The problem is that people don't associate any punishment for straw purchasing. They see the ATF do it in Fast & Furious - and no punishment even though our own Federal agents and hundreds of Mexican nationals died. The see witnesses in Congressional hearings say there are no laws and there is no punishment. The only ones I saw punished were egged on by the ATF for F&F.
We don't enforce laws that we don't say exist - then are surprised when someone breaks them. David Gregory is our next example. There are laws, there is punishment. Stop selectively prosecuting and perhaps people will actually see that those actions have consequences, we'll get more laws heaped on top of the existing ones (that aren't enforced) and it won't make a damn difference unless you go after EVERYONE who breaks the law. The IRS has high profile prosecutions that get noticed by everyone, yet the ATF lied to Congress and David Gregory broke the law right on live TV - but we get **crickets**. It's just insane. But if we nobodies break the law we get prosecuted and nobody but us knows about it. It's not right. |
