These threads piss me off.
However, a lot of these deals aren't so great when you factor in inflation. |

The Gun Control Act of 1968 went into effect just in time to shut down mail order guns just before I turned 21, its unfortunate that I didn't buy any of those cheap surplus rifles after I turned 18. At that age I didn't have any interest in old military guns, and back then they were mainly being bought to be sporterized, butchered up in reality. It would have been nice to buy a few 03-A3's, Enfields, Garands, Mausers, WW2 1911's, and some old WW1 revolvers, and just store them away, there wasn't any concept that they would eventually run out and the prices skyrocket.

That ad made me buy a 96FS back in the day. |

i would like those prices now. back then they were expensive guns. 1950's households made about $55.00 - $60.00 a week. in the 1920's it was about $25.00 a week.

That Iver Johnson Semi auto for $59 would probably be a pricey item these days.
I've only seen one in the stores ever, and it was a Full auto transferrable. Despite being semi-auto, and probably made after the war, I'm sure alot of WW2 buffs would find it an interesting rarity to have in their WW2 collection. |

Wowza, sometimes the old days aren't so great. $18 HK91 mags. |

I would gladly pay a weeks pay for any of those $50 guns in todays money. I remember filling out the Remington Christmas coupon for a .22 Mohawk. Got one too!!!! |

The prices don't matter to me.
Just bummed I can't mail order stuff like that now and have it delivered to my front door. (Yes, I know C&R license can some stuff).

It's a carbine version of the Gyrojet pistol. I have never seen the carbine, but I remember seeing the pistol in a gun store in the mid sixties. They used to pop up in gun shows from time to time during the seventies, but ammo has always been hard to find and expensive. Gyrojet pistol: |
