Myself, Team Member ssgtsnake, and a friend of mine went to an NFA shoot today. Some of the Red Jacket crew were there with some nice toys. Also, a couple of local NFA dealers came.  The event was to raise money for a SWAT team that is being put together.  We had a blast. Hopefully ssgtsnake will be along shortly with more pics.
Red Jacket crew (please keep the comments civil, she's a very nice young lady)

ssgtsnake shooting an HK51.

Nice pic of the owner of the HK51 shooting it.  Told you we had a blast.

My buddy Tim shooting a suppressed AK.

The same AK right after I got through shooting it.  If you look close you can see smoke coming off of the suppressor.  It got too hot to hold and I had to grip the mag.

Not the same.  None of these people are on the show.  They are Operations Manager, Rifle Program Manager, Etc (Manufacturing types) .  Very Nice people.  I actually grew up in the same small town and graduated from the same school as the Operations Manager. He was about 15 years ago behind me.

You local guys best get your asses out there tomorrow. Red jacket actually had
Ar's for sale at the shoot from $1250.00 to $1350.00. They looked very nice, but way too
much for me.

It wasn't well advertised, mainly because Red Jacket didn't conform till about a week before.  Was probably not expected to be to be as big as it was till they confirmed.  Also, MSU was off to a 6-0 start. That's rather unusual and some that would normally attend went to see MTSU get their asses kicked.  Hail State.  See you next year, Nolo.

Nothing personal but they should have been telling you guys how to stand to shoot full auto and had someone behind you giving you a brace if you faltered.

They did initially, but then mistakenly trusted me.

A lot of people were taught to shoot that way, and as most of us are not Tier-1 operators who need to worry about clearing buildings, there's really no good reason to change.

I've done a lot of rentals at MG Shoots and always stand behind the shooter with a hand on their shoulder until I see that they are leaning into the recoil with the proper stance.

In my defense, I've been out since 1994. So it has been a while since I've shot anything with a serious punch.
I think next time, I will fare slightly better, hopefully.

The Red Jacket guys and the other vendors would escort you the line and stayed with you until you they were confident that you were competent.  Most of what ssgtsnake shot was actually privately owned by two guys who got permission to bring and shoot their own stuff. They kept having malfunctions and problems and ssgtsnake kept coming up with tools like a hammer (I shit you not) and one piece cleaning rods, etc. As far as I know, he was the only one but the two owners that got to shoot their toys.

$5.00 rental plus ammo.  For reference, 7.62X39 was $6.00 a box.  Didn't price anything else.
