Love the food at Al Johnson's. I've been to the tower too, but I was up there in the winter. Beautiful

This Cheesehead approves! Thanks for sharing––that took a lot of effort. It is appreciated.

Beautiful area. I used to spend summers at my grandparents place in Fish Creek. We would go over to Ephraim and Sister Bay for evenings and ice cream. Bike Trails, Sailing, Swimming, Camping out and just walking around, Man I miss those days. I gotta get back up there soon. The grandparents no longer have the condo, but my siblings and I still went up a couple times since then and just camped out. The goats on the roof of Al Johnson's was always a favorite.

I've spent many weeks camping in Peninsula State Park over the years. Been to just about every place you depict in your pictures. Have family in Sister Bay. Always enjoy my time there.
Gotta love the Lambeau tour too. I need to do that again some time. I haven't done one since shortly after XXXI (didn't get to go down near the field back then either). |

If anyone ever goes up there and likes to camp, Rock Island was awesome. Its the next island north of Washington island. Very limited sites (30ish)and you have to take a people only ferry to get out there. Thanks for the pics OP!

Thanks for posting, and in regards to the '57 Chevy Truck at Lambeau, I'd really dig it, if it weren't for that Packers emblem on the doors.

You made it to Lambeau but didn't go to Krolls ?
Now, about those "fresh lawyers".. |
|
You must live dang near in Fibland if you think Green Bay/Door Country to be Northern WI.
|

Went to GB on a job several years back. Drove over to visit an old Army buddy who lives in Stevens Point. Beautiful country up there, just a little too cold for me in the winter.
|
|
Great photos!
Been there and absolutely love it. Going back in late October. |

did you get some Whitefish Chowder at the Viking Grill?
One of the few things I miss living back in Chicago was going to Door County in the Fall and Winter when it was dead. |

The first 30 or so pics suck!
I like the rest of your pics. Do you have the address or name of that church? Thanks. |
|
Beautitful. Northern Europe has given us some wonderful junk food and some wonderful ladies to serve it.
|

The Mrs. is from door county, something like 90% of the HS grads move and never come back. It's a nice place but unless you want to wait tables or shuck tourist crap there is pretty much no work. Her step father did pretty well as a small time construction guy but that work is pretty much all dried up now.
We still visit, they've got a nice place on the water. |
|
We used to go camping at Peninsula State Park all the time when I was a kid. Beautiful place.

Thanks for the pics. Lots of people have no idea what WI has to offer (well, some FIBS have figured it out and invade my home state ).
SE WI is pretty much the precision barrel maker capitol of the world, lots of AWESOME ranges, smiths, matches etc. Brewers, Packers, racing at The Mile, GLD and Road America. Summerfest. Hunting and fishing all over the state. Beautiful scenery up north and to the west (well, all over really). One of the best Capitol buildings in the country. The Dells. God bless Gov Walker. Man, I need to take some leave and go home! |
|
Right in my backyard. Looks like you hit all the good spots, but missed a few wineries.
Glad you had a good time. |
|
Damn dude, I thought posts were limited to 2000 pictures. Guess you proved me wrong!
|
|
WI is a great place...cept for all teh FIBS....they cant drive, bring up all their "big city" attitudes....
Notice you never see anyone going INTO Illinois for fun.... now if you REALLY get up north, you see some REAL wilderness. There are plenty of Cleatsuses up there too! |
|
I think I'm going to go with grass, when I have to re-roof my house next year.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. I am LDS and served my mission in Wisconsin. Such a beautiful place i miss it dearly. Being from AZ i had never seen so much water before. Oh and GO PACK.

Quoted: We spend a week in a cottage in Baileys Harbor every October for the last 15 years, can't wait! http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii81/dphill15/002_zps7b02caba.jpg I didn't make it over to the east side of the peninsula on this trip. I was only in Door County for about 19 hours. I'll definitely hit Baileys Harbor next time. |

I thought this thread was gona be northwoods. Still quite nice. Little bro and sis were born in Door Co. Sadly its been several years since I've been up there.
You did miss the Von Stehl goodness. |
