Today, I've got my .45 and two spare clips. I figure the 18 rounds will do me OK for now, especially since I just went from home to one of my jobs.
If I'm carrying my M&P, I've got a lot more on me. |

In before "Magazines, not clips". A spare mag or two would be plenty for me. I don't plan on an all out firefight in my hometown. |
When I carry my 1911, usually two full spare 8 rd magazines plus 9 in the handgun. When I carry my Glock 26, I carry 12 plus 1 in the gun and a spare Glock 19 magazine for an additional 15 rds.
G29 with 10+1 in the gun, and a G20 reload, so 26 rounds of 10mm...
Should be enough for anything I get myself into, or at least get me back to the trunk for a rifle... |
I wouldn't feel out gunned with a 1911 with 8+1 and a spare mag.
XD45 with 14 rounds in it and another 13 round mag in my back pocket.

9 in the gun, one spare 8 round mag.
On the days I carry a 642 I have 5, plus 5 more in a speed strip. |
35 rounds. M&P 9 full size, so 17rds in mag plus one in the chamber with a spare 17rd mag in my pocket.

I mean, why can't one call them clips? |

Normally what is in the mag. I don't always carry a spare mag.
G30... 11 in the gun and a spare mag with 13.
I carry the spare magazine for the ammo but also because many malfunctions are magazine problems, can't hurt to have a spare. |
When I carry my G19 its 15+1 with no back up. I find that in most cases the spare mag is just too bulky and uncomfortable to carry.
When i carry my Kahr CM9 its 6+1 with no back up, but that is because i don't have any spare magazines for it yet. |
Lately (It's been warm here this year) I have been just carrying my LCP with the one mag in it. So 7 rounds.
If I can wear pants I carry my G26 with a G19 mag in it (15 rounds) plus my J frame (5 rounds) on my ankle. 20 rounds total. |

18 - I have gotten bad with carrying a spare mag for my M&P 40c. But I still "New York reload" a Ruger LCP.

I carry a lot less than most of you. I only carry 10 in the magazine of my XD .45. It would be a good idea to keep a spare magazine in my center console but I wouldnt want to carry one around.
15+1 and a reload. so 31.
but no one cares as this has turned into the epic internet fight of lcips vs mags. guess what, no one gives a fuck get off your high horse. |
With the M&P, 35: 18 in the gun and a spare magazine in a belt carrier.
If it's just my 442, then 5 in the gun and 5 on a speed strip (because if I'm carrying that, it means I can't conceal much).

Around house or running to the store close by I carry 15 in the gun. If I'm going somewhere further away I'll grab an extra mag (15-17) for the trip. I keep a backpack in the truck with a couple of mags and a box or two of 124gr JHP +p along with eyepro and earpro.
It all depends on what I'm carrying, the least I ever carry is 5 in a S&W J frame, the most I every carry is 46, Beretta 92Vertec with 2 spare reloads.
And from time to time, I'll carry a lot of different stuff in between. |

5
If I have to shoot more than five, I'll just have to line them up. |
G27 has 10 +1. Spare G23 mag has 18 (with the Arredondo +3 base pad).
So.................29. If carrying the G23, 13+1 + 18 = 32. |
12+1 in my 229(40)
1 extra 12 round mag on my belt 2 extra 12 round mags in my center console on my blazer |

Varies from 5 rounds to 31. Depends on what I'm wearing, where I'm going and who I'll be with.

A Sig P239: none in the chamber, 7 in the mag in the gun, two full mags @ 7 rounds each in a carry pouch- 21 rounds, total. I have a thin build, so it's not really possible for me to conceal carry the Sig P226.
