It worked yesterday, today it's not.  This calls for a big protest IMHO, but I'm not sure what to do.  Google Shopping is a good way to find the best deal on products, and now firearms owners and potential firearms owners have been shut out.

Here's a link to a blog that explains it.

http://blog.riflegear.com/archive/2012/06/05/google-is-about-to-kick-all-firearms-ammo-and-parts.aspx

Post some ideas on how we can get something going to have Google change their policy and feel the influence of gun owners.

The general search works.  Shopping does not.  It's not just me bc it worked yesterday, and today it doesn't.  It is a policy change.

Stop using Google is not an option.  It is the best search engine on the planet, and if you own a business, it is a critical tool.

Just did Shopping searches for 10mm brass, .223 brass, AR-15 upper, and .50 cal bi-pod.

All worked just fine.

Just searched for a glock on google shopping and it came up w/ 20 stores or so.

I'm curious if this is either a partial DC rollout (in which case my results will eventually go away) or that they're not allowing firearm companies to participate in the adwords section of google shopping. If the latter is true, that would actually be good as long as they continue to provide results as every gun purchaser gets competitive results and doesn't pay for adwords.

It is adwords related.  I guess  competition is good, but it crippled small business.

They've been doing that for years. I had an adwords account banned for similar, so be careful how you word your ads.

This has been happening to me all month, one day it works, the next it doesn't. Come July 1, it's not going to work at all, Google Shopping is going to remove all firearms, ammo, and knives as stated here, click on Unacceptable Product Categories. That really sucks, I liked using Google Shopping to price compare, although half the time the products listed weren't in stock or the price was wrong, but I was able to come across some good deals every now and then.

We have announced changes to Google Shopping in the U.S.
As part of these changes, the following Google Shopping policies will become effective on July 1, for all merchants targeting the US.

4) Google Shopping should be compatible with Google's brand decisions.
Google Shopping must be compatible with company brand decisions. Our company has a strong culture and values, and we've chosen not to allow ads that promote products and services that are incompatible with these values. In addition, like all companies, Google sometimes makes decisions based on technical limitations, resource constraints, or requirements from our business partners. Our policies reflect these realities.

Weapons
As highlighted on our new policy page http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/ApI7UWRj6OCZpd, in order to comply with the Google Shopping policies you need to comply first with the AdWords policies http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/StQ08jAzM4fVtG. We do not allow the promotion or sale of weapons and any related products such as ammunitions or accessory kits on Google Shopping. In order to comply with our new policies, please remove any weapon-related products from your data feed and then re-submit your feed in the Merchant Center. For more information on this policy please visit http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/GbBNIGHOribLzf.

Yes. But it would be better to keep using a superior browser like Chrome and just change your search engine to Bing.

Hmm, my search for flare gun inserts still went through OK.
Just did a search for some pistols and it came up fine as well.

Google is undergoing some major changes this summer/fall in regards to adwords and shopping.
