Just back from a couple of weeks in China. I love what the D810 can do handheld, available light.

The last two are in a dark theater, with stage lighting only.

Nice shot!
The focus was probably dead on.   250mm at 1/60" is going to be hard to keep tack sharp if you are shooting off hand.

Well, one of my new lenses showed up today.  I'm hoping to take it out and snag a few geese photos later tonight, but so far I'm impressed.  Only complaint is that autofocus clicks a bit when searching.  If it gets bad or annoying I'll just return it for replacement.  Sucker is heavy but nice though.

So far I love it.  Only complaint is the autofocus clicking.  Considering I have to call Nikon tomorrow anyhow, I might ask about it.  Still, screaming deal for the $400 I spent.  Just wish I was able to grab one of the $300 refurbs from Nikon.

Then again, Amazon is getting a negative review on shipping.  Tossed in an oversized box with no padding.

I got mine off of ebay a few months ago for about the same price. Mine makes a soft tap as it hits the extremes of the AF, but it's not a real hard click.

Took it out and put about 200 shots through it.  The clicking went away, so I guess it was just stiff or something.  I'm going to need a lot of practice though, I had no idea it needed that much light.  Still, I like practice with cameras

What the hell is that? I mean, it's obviously a camera, but it looks like something the Terminator would use.

Since Willow Grove NAS closed we don't see too many .mil aircraft around. These two Blackhawks flew over on Sunday and I got them with my iPhone 6.

It's like a form of a steadicam rig.
This rig is called a Ronin (you can look up a million youthbe videos about it)
The camera is a Canon C300.
That arm thats connected to the lens is a motor so we can remotely focus the camera.
And theres some other crap on it too lol

Well, I think I got the 70-300mm telephoto worked out.  So long as the aperture can be zipped down a bit, it gets fantastic photos at 300mm.

So, that 50mm 1.8f works pretty damn good for Aurora photos even though it is pretty much a 75mm on my crop sensor camera.

1.8f iso 800 2 second exposure
