as soon as a major health problem resolves itself in the family I will branch out more. However, I am getting a lot of practice and understanding the camera better by taking pictures of the dog and critters in the yard.

Outstanding pics. I spent a lot of time on horseback in my youth, but I never learned how to rope. I wish I had. All of my buddies were bronc and bull riders and they all wanted me to learn to rope or steer wrestle. Someone had to earn gas money or entry fees for the next gig.

Thanks!

My mother and brother were good with horses.
I personally hate riding horses.
I used to use a dirt bike or four wheeler when it was time to work cattle.

Headboard I made from scrap 2x4s and reclaimed pallet wood. The inserts are from hardwood pallets and the lighter from pine pallets. Working on the foot board now.

When I got my first DLSR years ago I remember imitating a lot of shots I'd seen before.  Either in terms of landscape locations or certain macro stuff.

Very nice!  I recently started doing some pallet furniture ideas I've had for a while in my head.  I get nice big heavy oak pallets from my Matco dealer when he gets new roll cabs in for customers.  My wife wanted a coffee table for outside, so I threw together this one for her recently.  She liked it so much, it's inside for now.  I am going to make a nicer one with a level top.  I didn't use any rules (or rulers) to make this one, did a lot of hand chiseling for the mortises.  The wood is all rough sawn, and I just lightly sanded it to take out the splinters and stained it.
