Our 2 rescues.  Panda had a dislocated elbow and it had festered for a while before she was surrendered, so the vet had to amputate the leg including the shoulder blade.  Wesley was hit by a car and had a broken hip and compound fracture of his rear lower leg before we adopted him.  We tried every way we could to locate his owners but no one came forward to claim him, no chip, no collar.  He now has a metal plate with 6 screws in his tiny leg bone.  He can run like the wind now though.  Panda is still getting used to dealing with a missing leg but acts like a typical cat.  She was malnourished and is tiny although she is an adult.  She also has vision problems.  We were not confident that Wesley would accept her but he quickly realized she needs us all and they are buddies now.

We discovered she is still trying to use the missing front leg.  When she is in the cat box she moves her body as if the front leg is still there, using the ghost limb trying to bury her poop.

Single-car crash on relatively straight, dry road in daylight.  Driver seemed to be talking on his cellphone, so apparently not drunk/under arrest.  Texting?    Strong smell of skunk right there; perhaps he swerved (poorly) to avoid one (and apparently failed)
