I'm 50 years old and have never been able to grow a beard. I have been told that we have a lot of native american blood in our family. Could this be the reason?

I can't grow sideburns to this day and I'm just over 50, I too was told it could be Indian blood.

I am part "Pacific Islander" and I can't grow a full beard, comes in all patchy like. But that is cool with me because I have very little body hair, makes up for not having a beard at the pool or beach.

Quit your bitching. I'd pay a lot of money to not grow a beard any more. I want the hour of my life back that I spend in front of the mirror shaving every week.

I can only grow one where I don't want it. Underneath my chin/neck area and pork chops. Can't even get a shitty mustache going and almost nothing on the front of my chin. I can *almost* grow one of those douchebag beards, the little skinny line across the jaw line and up the sides.

The farther you are along the evolution chain, the less facial hair you have . . . not really a bad thing that you can't grow a beard.

why worry about it? shaving is a pain in the ass. and now that i've gotten older and my friggin beard extends to my ears it's really annoying.

I can grow a mustache and goatee. My sideburns are awfully thin and don't connect to the hair near my ears. The hair on my cheeck and under my jaw is patchy and pathetic. The funniest part is all the different colors in my beard. Dark brown, viking red, white, etc...

Depends on genetics. I can't grow a goatee. the sides of my mouth don't grow in, and my chin hair is still blondish. 2 tone facial hair at 33 sucks. I don't have a lot of body hair either. My brother has full facial hair and has a 5 o'clock shadow by noon. Also, he is about as hairy as gorilla.

I shave every other day, sometimes 3 days.
Well over 50, fair hair and no balding. Moustache grows like a weed, but the rest of the facial hair is nothing more than a pain to scrape off every few days.
No 5 oclock shadow look cool in a TV commercial here.

Baby face don't leave no rash on her thighs..........just sayin'.

My great grandmother on my fathers side was full cherokee and my grandfather also had alot in him.
My mothers side is said to have some native american aswell but not as well documented.

cant grow a beard to save my life...doesnt bother me one bit.

32. Could grow a stache and chin beard, but everything thing else is sporadic. I still have to shave everyday to keep from looking ridiculous though. Lots of Norwegian and various other European ancestry with a dash of Chippewa

Not being able to grow awesome sideburns really sucked back in the 70s when I was in HS & college.
