It could definitely be a prelude to another "kinetic military action" or whatever they are calling them nowadays but there's certainly some serious turmoil in Syria. The government is blaming Al Qaeda and Islamic terrorists, the opposition is saying the government is behind them but stuff keeps blowing up over there; two suicide bombings in late December and another one in January.
Al-Assad isn't a friend but on the other hand I don't think that the opposition is exactly a bunch of peaceful students who just want freedom. If the US wants to play the white knight and oust another despotic government it might just make things worse. |
