It's fun having the mortgage paid off. In the last 19 months I have purchased 5 new firearms. They are as follows:
1) Cugir built PSL. 2) Hi-Point 995TS Carbine - 9mm 3) Hi-Point 4595TS Carbine - 45 ACP 4) Bulgarian SSR-85C-2 - 7.62x39 5) Just Right Carbine - 45 ACP Tales of woe as follows: 1) The first PLS had a fatal receiver failure after 80 rounds. The dealer replaced it. On the replacement rifle it took 8 months and a new bolt to finally get three of my 6 magazines to work properly with the rifle. I have given up on ever getting the other three magazines to work. 2) When I purchased the Bulgarian AK the store owner said pick a mag from the box. As it happened I picked the only mag on the planet that would actually fit into the gun. Even then it would fail to feed just about every other round. The shop owner let me pick another gun and that has worked fine. 3) I purchased the Just Right Carbine two weeks ago. Today while at the range the nub on the ejector plate broke off. This is after about 250 rounds. I sent an e-mail to the company requesting a replacement. At least it is an easy fix. The ejector is actually a quite substantial piece and I am surprised that it failed. Meanwhile my Hi-Points just keep eating whatever ammunition I feed them without any problems. My oldest Hi-Point is 8 years old and still running great too. Whod a thunk it. |

compared to slav shit built out of parts kits assembled by god knows who?
and odd guns from some tiny niche maker ? yeah probably |

I'm guessing the PSL isn't a factory gun but instead an imported receiver and kit built by TGI or any number of other outfits.
The Bulgarian is also not factory. It simply "comes from" Bulgaria but is not a factory Arsenal production rifle. The kit it was built from, was pulled from a Milled variant and built onto an aftermarket stamped receiver. |

Who put your Bulgy together? It should be fine. Some company called ISD Bulgaria. They take de-milled surplus AK47's and build them on their own proprietary stamped receiver. They are usually decent AK's for the money though they are not truly "factory". |

Most people who hate Hi-Points have never even shot, let alone owned a Hi-Point. I have a C9 that has never once in 2500+/- rounds, had an issue.
Ugly: check Heavy: Check Chunky: Check Inexpensive: Check Reliable: Check Awesome warranty: Check Whats not to love |

I never heard of Just Right Carbines - had to look it up. Hope you're not using anything on your list except for range plinkers.....

I have built as many guns as I have bought "NIB".
I ALWAYS not only expect, but also look forward to, doing some gunsmithing on them. |

Haters gonna hate, while Hi-Point owners laugh all the way to the bank. |

Sell your collection of strange guns that don't work.
Buy a good AR and a glock.

This! OP is trolling us hard. If this were real, I'd tell the OP to stop buying shitty guns. Actually, I own all the guns mentioned above plus a few AR's and a several milsurps. In fact I just sold 12 run of the mill Mausers to trim the herd. This is a fun post, but still true. What I really find amusing is how my AK based rifles turned out. Just different that the legendary AK reliability you always hear about. Two out of three purchased over the years have had to be replaced. My current Bulgarian is a very good shooter. Solidly built on a 1.6mm receiver. The Just Right Carbine is a bit of a disappointment. Early life failures do not make me happy. Hopefully the new ejector will work fine. I didn't even pay $600 out the door for it. The machining and finish seems as good as any AR I own. Mine uses Glock magazines. What is neat is that for $88 I can get a new mag well and a 1911 magazine add use 1911 mags in it. Or even convert it to shoot 9mm or 40 S&W. In a previous life I was a QA engineer and sometimes these little guns intrigue me. I also owned a Kel-Tec SU-16A for a few years. Plastic receiver and never let me down. The first two days I owned it I put 1,000 rounds of Wolf through it without cleaning it or a hiccup wither. Very impressive. Easy to clean too. Shooting my AR's is kind of boring. Always go bang and easy to hit what I am shooting at. IMHO ergonomics is far superior to the AK. I do not consider an inexpensive gun a shitty gun. I consider a unreliable gun a shitty gun. |

your error is in thinking that hi point is the ONLY crap gun out there.
Clearly you have succeeded in finding some others. |

You had to pay off your mortgage to afford some hipoint firearms?

What exactly was the "fatal receiver failure" with the PSL? The extractor split at the fold and completely separated from the side wall of the receiver. Jammed up the bolt pretty good. Took a hammer to get it all apart. Major disappointment. And I was using Czech light ball at the time. |

[#47]
OP,
What happened to your PSL? Receiver failure? What ammo weight were you using. |

You had to pay off your mortgage to afford some hipoint firearms? - Clint My property taxes are now higher than my mortgage payments were. In fact I live in the county with the highest property taxes in the nation. I will be 61 in a few months so the prospect of moving and starting over is not worth it to me at this time. As stated above I sometimes buy the inexpensive stuff just to see how good it really is or isn't. My Hi-Point carbines have been a pleasant surprise. Fun plinkers with an awesome warranty and warranty service. One rifle I have been really happy with is my Hammerli Sport 22SA. It is a semi auto 22lr that has run over 1,000 rounds of Remington Golden Bullet trough it without one failure to load or eject. It also has a few hundred rounds of other brands of ammunition through it. If is the most reliable 22 semi auto I own. Puts my Remington 597 to shame and I have one of the good ones. I'm just having fun here. Just an observation that I made when looking at my firearms list. |
