I'd like to donate a new Glock to auction off to help out Lightning_P38's cousin who recently suffered the house fire.  I'll let the winner pick the model they want and the proceeds will go to his cousin.

I posted on this forum for the first time today, having years of posting experience on The Firing Line, The High Road, and GlockTalk.

Two of the first three  threads I read were LIghtning_P38's cousin's tragedy, and this. Two threads containing generosity that astonishes me.

God bless you people, seriously.

Two posts in and I'm sold. As soon as I have the cash (might be awhile, a few debt-strapped college years to go ), I'm a lifer.

Can I add a Marlin 917 17HMR, 4 round mag, and 2-7 round mags with BSA scope to this Billmanwah/Staff? I don't have much to offer, but this is what I can do.

Good deal.

With this auction, please make sure your FFL will except from private party, and all proceeds will go to Lightning_P38's cousin and family.

I feel bad for the guy and his family.

Is not the point of a "charity auction" to be charitable?

Good, I'm not a big Glock guy and thought you might be offering to buy an unobtanium Glock for $800.  Sorta like me offering $800 for a Glock 18.  I'm very glad to see I was wrong.

Good on you for your bid although I would have picked a Glock 20 :-)

ETA, GD has rendered me suspicious.

Welcome to your newest addiction

While this site may have a variety of psychopaths , losers , adolescents ,  nut-cases , basement dwellers , bigots ,  freaks , and  cowards , they are still heavily outnumbered by very generous , extremely knowledgeable   , all-around wonderful guys and gals !

Hands down , ARFcom is the greatest site on this planet or any other.

If it'll help entice others to put down a bid (i've already spoken to Bill about this).

I'll throw in a holster, magazine holster and 2 magazines for the Glock-of-choice to the winner.

motown_steve decided to add the actual costs of these items back as a donation.   Since I didn't have to spend the same amount twice (to buy the items and make a donation in an equal amount) I donated said cost and some directly to the charity.

All said, motown_steve has been party to donating just shy of $1,000 ($970) to this great cause.

Special thanks Billmanweh and motown_steve for their exceptional support and generosity.  Same goes for everyone else who has helped out our fellow Texan.
