The weekend before 9/11 I went to a fly-in with my dad and when unloading the plane on Saturday I accidentally turned the ELT switch to "on" Couple hours later the local FBO owner detected it and came out, we realized what happened and turned it off. Eventually at around midnight someone from the CAP, Air Force, the Sheriff, and some other guys came out and had to verify the plane was in one piece. The guy from the CAP was a total prick and the guy from the AF was cool, he wanted to talk about flying and how cool it was we had our own strip on the farm and plane. He would have shot the shit for a while longer if the CAP guy wasnt being a douche. Not to mention all the times Ive seen a CAP plane roll into the FBO and some guy hops out that thinks hes king shit. Not sure how they get people to join if they act like that, but whatever. |
