might pick up an 870 Police or Mossy 590A1 some day, but I'm not really much of a shotgun person

My plain hunting gun doubles as my "defensive" shotgun. 28" barrel and all.

870, 26" IC, 10 shot mag extension. Built from parts for less than $200. Way less.

It's a Pre-WWI M1897 I bought cheap off Gunbroker. An old bird gun.
I had Richard Parker of Parker Arms&Tool Works rework it, he did a
great job.

Broken down it will fit in a messenger bag.......

Mid '70's 870 Wingmaster Police.  LE trade-in.  Bought for $160 - probably my best firearms purchase of all time.

Since the pic, I've reparked it, refinished the wood, and added a mag extension.

I have a pre-WWI breakdown with a 28" barrel I'm worrying over doing such a thing as that. Wish I had two.

Honestly that's pretty much the only reason I bought it.

Just keep an eye on Gunbroker.......they can be had fairly cheap.
I picked up a Model 12 at the same time.....but that was too nice to cut.
Found an entire Riot gun front end for it at a local show...cheap.
Sometimes life is good....
