Ah, the Trapper Keeper...

...I remember it was such a big decision at the beginning of the schoolyear which Trapper Keeper to get.

Woe to any child ignorant enough to bring some vanilla binder to class; they would instantly lose some social standing and be ridiculed

My mom would never buy me a real Trapper Keeper.  I always showed up with some knock off from the dollar store, and got ridiculed accordingly.

I did, however, have the Jansport Backpack, with leather bottom!

Me too!  Mine was black.  I used it all through high school (1996-2000), college (2000-2005), and for my graduate degree (2008-2010).  I was super pissed when the zipper finally broke beyond repair in early 2010.

I hung out with the one on the right some.  He would go to the bowling alley in Union City, GA and play video games.  I taught him how to play all the Mortal Kombat (original) and Street Fighter II characters with their special attacks.

It was fun to have him buy a lot of MK and SF games for me.

regarding the hand held game systems. I remember we used to have huge debates over which was better. Game gear or game boy. Each had lots of kids on either side. "Game gear is COLOR!" , "But game boy has better games!"

By cracky, I do recall the gay '90s.

Cheeky Moros, Upstart Boers and a bit of a dust up in Cuba.

Who can forget the Zalinski Dynamite Gun?  Not I!
