Unfortunately my "Want" doesn't intersect my "Need".

You could just get a taller elephant. Or uparmor a short one.

I live in the suburbs.  However, I'm taking ARFCOM's advice and will buy a beltfed to CCW for potential flashmobs.

I bought one from Dixie Gun Works.  It's well-made and lots of fun to shoot (if you are interested in the whole primitive thing).  Packs a wallop when loaded properly.

I Expect a whole "Primitive Pistol" deer season to rise up around this pistol.

The gun is also available in .50 caliber, and a mixed .50 caliber and 20-gauge configuration.  I went for the dual 20.  I've had a few people freak out when they see it because it looks like someone took a 20-gauge side-by-side and sawed down the barrels and the stock.

Really, all we have here are ill-tempered rodents.

Jeez for that price you could buy a used coach gun and put a stamp on it... Oh and not have to carry around a powder horn

I think what you mean to say is; "Your choices are stupid. If I had the same money as you do I would make a better decision, but I don't."

Story of my gun buying life the last couple years.  I've bought TWO guns in the last two years... and sold more than that...

I am going to have to see what I can part with from my current stable to fund one of those.  Dammit.

Not in IA you can't. BP or 18+" barrel are the closest to a SBS the average person can have(That or a Judge)

No. In most states black powder other than the Contender/Encore platform is not legally a firearm so not subject to those restrictions. I've always wanted to get a 1858 new army revolver and add the stock from the Cattleman's carbine they sell-but can't find the stock separately.

It is a muzzle loading black powder, you can do ANYTHING to them and they would still be legal.
