Found this post on /k/ and was wondering what the codes mean:

For the militaryfags:

I went into the marines about 7 years ago,
right out of highschool. I was a total moron about it, no idea what i
was getting into, ended up not making it through bootcamp.

Today,
i'm almost finished with college, way more mature and sensible than i
was then. Thinking about going air force reserves as an officer.

My
father is a colonel in the air force, his opinion is i shouldnt even
mention for previous enlistment when i try to go in. I hear all kinds of
people saying they're going to find out about it if you dont anyways. I
also hear people saying there's no way they'll find out.

Seperation code was: JGA1-performance and conduct.

reenlistment code is: RE-3F- Erroneous enlistment

I havent even talked to a recruiter yet, getting ideas on how to handle this first. wat do?

As for them not finding out that is bogus. Many jobs in the MIL require a security clearance of some sort, If you put that you do not have prior Mil and they find out otherwise expect bad things.

They will find out.

During a security clearance interview it will come up via many avenues.    TAG for what the codes mean.   Some of the military is downsizing (AF, especially officers), but I'm pretty sure the Army is always hiring.

Every job in the Air Force requires a security clearance.  There is no way they would not find out about his previous enlistment.  He is toast.

Not to be mean, but it sounds like he should have been a little more mature or responsible when he was younger.  Actions have consequences and that one will haunt him for a long time.

1. He was probably booted out the first time for being a shity marine.
2. He probably lied to get in the first time, and barred from reenlistment.

They will most likely not have him back.

That would be "Fradulent Enlistment"

With the economy and reduction in end strength goals, it will be difficult for anyone with past problems to get waivers.

Sounds like his .Mil hopes are over.

Don't think I would bother even trying and wasting the Recruiters time.

3F is 'failed to complete recruit training'

Don't know about the sep-code...

Air Force is the hardest service to get into...

He'll be better off going Army, if he really wants to serve.
