Checked the title, no joy. Hopefully not a dupe.
Can't the friggin Cali anti gun retards just stick to fucking with people of their own state Link here Oklahomans licensed to carry a gun would be able to display them openly in most public places if a proposed bill makes it through the Legislature and is signed into law. Supporters of the legislation say it simply extends already guaranteed Second Amendment rights, while opponents say open carry intimidates other citizens and wastes law enforcement resources. The state already allows people who complete a background check and receive training to carry a handgun as long as it is concealed from plain view. The proposed law would not relax permit requirements and guns would still be banned from bars, government buildings and schools. The measure passed the Senate last week by a 33-15 vote and now awaits action in the House. State gun control laws vary widely, but more than 40 allow open carry for citizens in at least some situations. Some states don't require a permit, but others do. Four states ban open carry outright. As of this week, 96,767 people have a concealed-carry license in Oklahoma, said a spokeswoman with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Detractors of the practice say nobody can tell whether a person carrying a gun openly is law abiding, and allowing the practice leads to more illegal and unintentional firing of guns. An author for the bill, Rep. Rex Duncan, R-Sand Springs, called those sentiments the concerns of "gun-grabbers." "I think that's ridiculous fear-mongering by liberals that don't support the Second Amendment," he said. Sen. Brian Crain, R-Tulsa, who voted against the bill last week, said open carry isn't a Second Amendment issue. The concealed-carry law ensures the right to bear arms and allows people to adequately defend themselves, Crain said. "This just is not something that is conducive for Tulsans," he said. "We're not enhancing their safety . . . and I don't see any benefit to it." Legal Community Against Violence, an advocacy group that seeks to end gun violence, argues that allowing open-carry laws can create difficulty for law enforcement. Police are often called to a scene because someone has a weapon, and responders can't quickly determine whether the gun is owned legally, said Lindsay Nicholls, staff attorney for the California-based group. "There's no way for officers to know that people are just exercising their rights," she said. A spokesman for the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says the office supports the intent of the Legislature with the open-carry bill, as long as proper background checks and current regulations continue to apply. Interim Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan said the department does not have a stance on the bill, but has had no trouble with the concealed-carry law. "We'll just have to wait and see, but I've been impressed with concealed carry," Jordan said. Duncan said he is confident his bill will become law. "It's going to pass overwhelmingly, and I fully believe the governor will sign it," he said. |

Most Californians can't even fucking find Oklahoma on a map. If they could, they'd probably assume it was a suburb of Chicago.
|
|
My prediction is that when every state but CA has gone completely over to shall-issue concealed AND open carry, and the crime rate in those states has dropped to 20 percent of what it is before those laws were passed, and CA's crime rate has gone up tenfold because it's the only safe haven for criminals, these asshats will still be campaigning
against any gun freedoms of any kind, whether it's in their states or not. Even when CA gets similar laws and its own crime rates start falling out of the sky like a Russian plane at the Paris airshow, they'll STILL be wringing their hands and moaning about evil guns even as those laws make the streets safer by the minute. They simply do not get it. They do not understand cause and effect. CJ |

I suppose California should boycott Oklahoma, too.
I further suppose that Oklahoma wouldn't (1) notice it, or (2) care. _MaH |

I put more effort into it than most of California's citizenery does at the voting booth.

This kills me:
"There's no way for officers to know that people are just exercising their rights," she said. Well, um, if they have a gun in their holster then; yes, they are exercising their rights. Stupid bitch. |

Well at the rate things are going CA will boycott every state except CA and then we'll be in good shape.

Fuck California. Fuck California in the fucking eye with a sharp stick. Sorry CA members, I know that blah blah blah blah, but FUCK, if the fucking pro-illegal dumbfucks can bus protesters to AZ, you guys should fucking be able to flood every one of your reps with fucking calls, emails, faxes, letters and fucking smoke signals.

CA members need to settle down. I'm sure guys are talking about anti-gun libtards, not 2nd Amendment card carrying members from CA. |

Pssssssss......we open carry in rural Oklahoma, and you never hear about it. You know why??? Because no one fucking cares......I was picking my daughter up from school yesterday and the kindergarten class had just put up some stuff on the hallway wall. It was a end of year project showing pictures of the things accomplished this year that they were proud of accomplishing. The first one I saw was a pic of a 3 guns (obvious cricket 22, 870 and some type of youth bolt gun). The kindergartener was proud because "his daddy finally let him move up from his .22 to a .243 and let him keep both and his shotgun" There was also a pic of the turkey he shot last week. I was so proud...this kid, in arf fashion, got both at 5 years old. Yet, ZOMG, no one was concerned or offended.....

Well, here in Florida it's a perfect sunny day in the upper 70s to lower 80s, and it's comfortable to swim in any part of the Atlantic Ocean that's accessible from Florida beaches, with water temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. How are the Pacific Ocean temperatures on the beaches at the northern end of CA, or the south end, for that matter? Floridians do NOT envy California's weather. CA is nice but when it comes to swimming in the ocean, Florida wins for comfortable water temperatures. CJ |

When the Westburo Baptist GodHatesFags groups come to do dishonor to a fallen Oklahoma warrior nobody cares enough to even start a thread here ... but now ... whoa, this must be serious! Paul, I'm sure you took a considerable amount of time to look all of that up, but you won't change my mind. I watched what New Yorkers did to my birth state, Texas, in the 70's and 80's. I've watched what the Californians have done to Colorado in the last 15 years. They spread their liberalism and try to muck up free states. You can't possibly deny that left wing activist groups A)typically come from CA and NY, and B)have no qualms about going into free states and try to screw with the laws. ETA: Don't believe me, look at the outside groups that came to CO to oppose leg trapping, and pushed for a stupid constitutional ammendment that now forbids leg traps forever. Gee, I wonder why we have so many foxes and coyotes coming into Denver suburbs and taking liberal idiot's poodle, Fluffy?
You shouldn't take it too personally when we bash CA. Surely those of you who live there recognize the disease that comes from there. Oh, and I've boycotted NY for 30 years! |

This has nothing to do w/ CA, this is a nationwide group whose main office is in CA. Brady is based in DC, you gonna boycott DC too? Obama is from Illinois, let's boycott them too. Why yes, as a matter of fact, I do boycott CA, IL, and DC! When californians, illinoisians(?) stop fucking with every other state and actually try to fix their own states, maybe I'll give a shit about them. Until then, shut your (not you in particular) whore mouths and stop telling the rest of us how we should live. Oh, and stop bitching about your states, moving to ours, and then trying to change our free states to your old, fucked up system! Whew, I feel a little better. I grew up in California and spent 35 years of my life there. I loved it. But WTF happened? I've been gone for about 20 years and have watched it change from Ronald Reagan and Charleton Heston country to the land of Nancy Pelosi and Sean Penn.
And now, with California on the verge of economic collapse, it wants remake other states into its own image. Fix your own house and KTFO of our business. Oh, and think about voting a few of those assholes out of office. |
