Quoted: Yeah, guess they shoulda left ugly enough alone. Thankfully theres ATI stocks, because while they aren't great, they're cheap and good enough. The Hi-Point carbine is a very fun little plinker. |
i tell ya what, i bout one at a pawn shop a while back, in .40 cal, went to the range that same day and burned through 100 rounds without any failures at all. damn good little guns for the price.

And why can't those idiots reconfigure the grip to take a double stack mag? I'd by one if it held more rounds.
When somone says truck gun I think of a gun that has a purpose. Not a pistol caliber piece of crap that a company hung more toys on to make it look tacticool.
PS I had one of their standard ones in 9mm. I had to return it because the seam in the plastic on the gun seperated. |

I'll just hold onto my Kel-Tec Sub 2000... Those are a nice gun, and the fold in half feature makes it so much more stowable. I just wish they'd update the mold to add one small rail area for a light in the front, though it's easy enough to drill and mount some rail pieces on it. |

Quoted: And why can't those idiots reconfigure the grip to take a double stack mag? I'd by one if it held more rounds. +1 The original version is better looking (if that is even possible). Have shot them a few times. Never any functional issues, but the single stack mag is retarded. |

From a cosmetics standpoint, I like that aftermarket Beretta-looking stock better.
I've probably shot tens of thousands of rounds through one of the originals without so much as a hiccup that wasn't operator error. They're cheap, fun, reliable carbines. I don't know that the new design is up my alley, the ATI stock on the original give them a nice look and a good solid feel, a huge improvement over the ugly factory stock.
Did they build in a last round bolt hold-open yet? |

Still ugly as sin.
BUT. having owned one, It was reliable and accurate and over all a fantastic rifle. I sold it because my Kel-Tec Sub2k works the same, uses Glock mags, and fits in a backpack. |

When introduced they made a deal with California to sell there if they made a proprietary ten round mag. It had something to do with the mag fitting into the handle if I remember correctly. |

I have a very old carbine in 9mm. It's ugly as sin and the factory stock is flimsy and fragile (I replaced it with the much tougher ATI stock). However, it's reliable as hell. It's the only autoloader I own that has never jammed.

And for what you paid for that, I could've bought a very nice AR.... |
Quoted: I bet they sell millions They can't produce them fast enough. |

Plinking guns don't need all that ugly tactical crap, I'd rather have a Marlin Camp Carbine.
At least with that ugly little thing, you can be the 10th owner, run reloads through it, blow it up, and Hi-Point will replace it.
Try that with a $1200.00 HK. |
LOL. You could buy about 7 Hi Points and a few hundred rounds for the price of one of those. Kinda like comparing a Marlin bolt-action to a Cheytac... |

I don't know why that company can't make a single product that is even remotely aesthetically pleasing.
I keep telling them they need to make one in .45 ACP, fed from 1911 magazines.
I'd probably have one it it took a high cap mag I already use. If it took Glock mags I would have one. If it took S&W mags I probably would. On the other hand with their single stack mag it's not going to happen. What's the point of a low cap single stack mag pistol caliber carbine which uses a different mag than my pistol?
This is something that Kel-Tec got right. On the other hand, if the mag isn't going to match my pistol it had better hold 25 - 30+ rounds of ammo. That's where my 9mm AR comes in. |
Stallard/Hi Point had the corner on the ugly gun market long before Ruger decided to start firing up the molds.
yeah, no thanks.
I would rather have a camp 9 as already mentioned. Or one of the ruger carbines in 44mag |
I'd rather have a M92 lever action. 16" barrel, 8+1, can get it in .357, .44, or even .454 casull.
Handy, light, reliable. Around $400. - AG |
I got one and love it....fun, reliable, and decently accurate little plinker.
Been selling um for awhile aside from the goofy spring loaded recoil pad they are rock solid and a tremendous improvement over the old one
which wasn't terrible to begin with would I sell my Colt or RRA 9mms for one ? no but they work well and are worth more than the cost IMO |

I had exactly that happen guy stuck 3 bullets in a 40 caliber carbine barrel bulged it a bit Hi point rebuilt the thing no questions asked and sent him a new sling , scope mount and magazine back with it to boot their pistols are shit but if I was young and broke I would be all over a Hi Point rifle |
