Most PetSmart/PetCo/similar places will have airline approved kennels in stock. Price won’t be cheap for the size needed for Zeke, but they have them.

Sorry to hear your predicament, OP.

That's a tough one. I'm glad voodoo is willing to give him another chance.

I had two black gsd. They were friendly to people as long as I was around. They wouldn't let anybody near the house and they believed no other animals should be allowed to live.

Not great but I was single and in the country.

Thinking this might work dimension wise.

Exterior Dimensions: 32.5" L x 22.5" W x 24.5" HInterior Dimensions: 30.25" L x 20.5" W x 22" H
Kennel weight: 38 lbs

Hmm... might be a tad short.

I may have a crate, I have to check the size.

Delta may have suspended Pet Cargo due to flight delays/cancellations exacerbated by COVID.

Zeke will need a health certificate from a vet prior to travel.

Shipping is dependent on seasonal temperatures. If the ground temp is 80 degrees or higher at departure, ground stops, or arrival the dog will not fly.

Shit I'm trying to remember what I have for crates.   I know I've got something at home just can't remember exactly what and if it'd be airline approved.

I had a ~105lb GSD who passed 5 years ago.

I'm in CT.

Best I can do is check it at 6PM EST tonight.

UPDATE:

American Airlines transport available through NYC.

Plan is solid, pending a few final minor details and resolution of crate positioning.

Round trip airfare secured for escort if desired/required. I offered unlimited Delta miles but just happen to have about 90k on American I dont need so change of airlines is no problem.

Awaiting final approval of BLKVooDoo to execute.

I also would need to meet somebody since I’m picking up my Labradors and turning around

This crate is too small.

His measurements are 44” long, 10” wide, 30-32” from floor to tip of ears, 11” from knee to ground.

The commercial airline route is still on the table and still a workable solution for Zeke.

The rough cost will be $800 for fuel and we can cover our snacks and if we have to stay the night anywhere. So anyone who can pitch in please let us know.

I cant tell you all how much my family appreciates the outpouring of support. I am overwhelmed with the generosity everyone has offered for my friend Zeke. My wife is well aware of this place and what its done but we both still find it hard to believe what lengths people are willing to go to for strangers and dogs. God, I love this place.

Please keep in mind this is not a Striker Approved fundraiser and I don’t currently have any intention to ask for it to be. Ive already been offered more help than I honestly know what to do with. People are offering so much I feel like I am offending people when I’m not taking it. Some truly exceptional people have stepped up to help and I am working with them to get Zeke to his new home. I can cover whatever additional expenses are required at this time.

Despite the recent events Zeke is still my best friend and companion. I spent as much time with him as I could today and tonight we ate cheeseburgers. Two days ago I would have spent thousands of dollars to see him well if he fell ill or was injured. If some money is all it will take to secure his future then I will figure it out for him.

I love how amazing this place is and I don’t want to take advantage of the generosity that resides here. Please reserve it for folks who need it more. I came asking for a home for Zeke and we’ve found that and so much more.

God Bless ARFCOM

We're looking at an air solution now, right?

In we need to fall back to driving across Ohio on a northern route, I can get him from Canton/Akron into NW OH or to the Indiana border area.

I'm just limited on weekday availability and this Sunday is also bad. Next weekend is completely open.

Some very generous individuals here going the extra lengths to get Zeke to MN. Kudos.

A fellow has gratiously offered his airline flight miles for transport. A fellow has offered that he and friend with private plane would fly Zeke. Others have offered to provide intermediate driving lengths.

Many here want to help, offering both transport and finance. The legacy of Joker1.

Seems with funding of $800 to fuel a private flight, door to door pick up and delivery of Zeke, perhaps this option would be the least stressful for the dog.

I'm in for a financial contribution to help with this endeavor. IM me when final arrangements are set.

Not allowed unless the pilot has a commercial or ATP certificate.  Pilot will get hosed by the FAA.

In all reality, with private plane and flight being personal recreation, why would the FAA have any concerns?
